Beat Merchants

After reading aireydon post, I have heard 1st hand from some people that BM gave away their slots to other bands. Some say its favourtism but my sense is that the booking system is probably messed up. So do hope BM work on these things.

Aierydon,
Yes,i heard of slots being given away. But you got to understand this,we should not take it too seriously as they promise free slots in future.
And if you are chinese, try to respect and honour the management.I dont think so they only cater first to Malay Jammers. You should get into their shoes by making friends with them humbly and once they know you more and you know them more, things can be easily arranged.Afterall, which locations in Singapore is nearer to Bugis MRT than Beat Merchant? :)

u

Beat Merchants, i jam there too.
but if its about poor services, come on lah, nobody is perfect.
its really hard to satisfy evryones needs let alone when a customer is really the fussy type.

Haha no shoes allowed!
Though i would jam with shoes, then i look taller!
I liked BM though .heng my slot never got taken away before.
Room's quite big also. Only my drummer complained about the drums before. Other than that everything is pretty alrite. But never used keyboard amps before though so dont know about that one.
:?

hahaha!!
Hello, Shoe is an issue to musicians??!!
How do such a joker who is concerned with footwear practise at home?? with make up?

how silly can personal stuff gets in the way of liking a studio...how about a studio which Makes sure no boys have collar length hair and girls must tie up their hair? Its only shoes...whats the big fuss?

Just a personal preference dude but
a. It's a pain in the ass to be dragging gear in and out and have to put yr shoes on/off

b. When I play live I use a lot of wah wah which feels a lot different with/without shoes..the nuances are completely different.

c. I dont 'Jam' in the studio, I rehearse for gigs which means dancing on pedals..as a dress rehearsal for gigs, rather have em (shoes) on than have steel footswitches poking me in the foot.

Must be worse for drummers no?

It's not a major inconvienience but there are plenty of studios around with essentially the same or similar gear so I go elsewhere...no big deal.

Do you ever have to gig without shoes??

Well,if you are addressing to me, I can play guitar with or without shoes.

If performers in some gigs can take off upper shirt, why can't shoes be thrown off?

Don't tell me your feet is as soft as a baby's?

Dude in case you didnt notice i have nothing against the studio. Whats your problem with the sarcastic tone and all ill appreciate it if you keep it down. It was just a passing comment i prefer to jam with shoes. Like how does that affect my liking of a studio? Damn sure hell doesnt but if you think so then i think you better go learn your english man your interpretation of the language is too off
