ppl purchase them 4 da shape reasons
ne other reasons?
i saw a couple of bc riches guitars at davis n da prices r pretty low compared 2 guitars like epiphone or ibanez
r their guitars gd?

How true. I only like them for their sexy bodies and art. In the 90s, I played 2 BC Rich's both on long-tem loans, and unfortunately for me, I could find no joy playing them.

Would love to try and see what they sound like now...

:)

BC Rich guitar isn't something everybody really craves for. But if you really like the shape of it, the feel and your comfortable. Go ahead. But I would recommend you guitars like the Ibanez. They are of a better choice.

i kinda like their sound
kinda heavy n metal
but not sure issit a gd invest on these guitars
r da pickups in da bc riches guitars comparable 2 emgs?

Hmm.

Dude, most of their stock pickups are passive units, compared to the usual active EMG units, the sound is completely different.

Question is: what are YOUR needs?

It's pointless for us to give input if we don't know what your objectives and goals are.

so issit a gd investment 2 buy a bc rich n just stick 2 it or i shuld get a epiphone or a ibanez n change them 2 emg pickups

wad i need is more of a metal sound

why is there a need to swap to EMGs? my 'metal' guitar here is a Fender with a single coil neck... :smt017

well i use emgs as a guide
but its fine 2 change it 2 others like duncan or dimarzio
depending on each other's preference

The shape of the guitar doesn't mean more metal or less. Perhaps metal dictates more bass, or less sparkle, or more mids, or something to do with the EQ... if so, then tailor the body materials, hardware & all, to your requirements.

Much like how the player looks doesn't determine whether he is good or not, unless you are talking about weight, in which, fat = shred. 8)

I think the general concensous is that BC isn't fantastic quality.

Why would you want to go for one then?

well i dunno them much
but ive seen quite a few ppl post videos in youtube of themselves using da bc riches n playing
sound kinda metal
so was wandering issit a gd guitar

a good guitar is a good guitar, BC Rich or otherwise. many metal proponents embrace this guitar for its hostile protrusions, to them it's metal. to others, pointy guitars might prick their b*llocks (or their bandmates')...

when i bought the Ironbird Space Face (below), i was all out to prove that:

*if you can play, it doesn't matter what shape your guitar is
*if you can play, a single humbucker won't impede ideas/ make you lousy
*to remind myself that Chuck Shuldiner has been riding on a single pickup BC Rich all this while & he's been nothing short of superb (RIP Chuck Shuldiner)

ah well.. i suppose by good he means how well constructed the guitar is.. from what i see, its quite well put together, and weight wise, also quite practical for stage use..

but as for sound, doesn;t sound fantastic to me, a lil like the Gio series of rg guitars.
heard that the newer bcrich guitars are MIC. any one to clarify and enlighten me and the rest of the ppl on this thread?

With all due respect

"Investment" ??? You've got to be kidding. Here's what drops the value of your 'investment': buying it. It's now a used commodity. It's called depreciation. That's what did-in the 'value' of your 'investment' - carrying it out the door of your local guitar shop. If you think that your love of your instrument somehow allows it to escape common depreciation, you are truly out of touch.

If it sounds good and you like the way it feels, looks, then get it. Done & done.
