Bassist's Effects Line Up Part 2 (Include Pics of your pedal board)

not bad, I use it as a DI. The sound is great! I get a tube-amp sort of sound from it. I'm using the voyager as a replacement for a b3k, so I can get a sharper tone by stomping on the voyager footswitch.

nice boards. care to explain what each board does? sound clips will be good too

Hi, I don't have any soundclips of the board, but I can explain what each pedal does.
(in order)

I use a Fender Vintage '62,
Loopmaster A/B switcher allows me to plug in my bass at the top, and select between the cable and the wireless.
Polytune allows me to check the tuning for all the strings at the same time.
Voyager is a boost/mild overdrive with tone control, which allows me to increase or decrease the treble content (something similar to the tone knob on a bass), very useful for when I want to switch between something with more pick attack or a rounder finger sound.
Microtubes B7k is my main amp sim/overdrive, which allows me to get a nice overdriven sound and also allows for an XLR out of the dirt channel. This is placed BEFORE the freqbox and MXR compressor because the headroom is not extremely high so at higher volume settings it starts to break up (as with all OD pedals).
The M87 is a compact bass compressor with a gain reduction meter, very useful for setting the settings and seeing what it does to the sound. use it to limit any peaks and also to feed the freqbox a cleaner, better signal. Also used as a boost.
Moogerfooger MF-107 Freqbox has a pitch-controlled VCO, which basically means its my "synth" sound. Played around with the EHX BMS (old version), IE Frantabit, and I finally settled on this one. The "mix" knob was what made me choose this over the frantabit, because the frantabit (to me) with blend to maximum sounds like the freqbox with blend set to 4/10, and I needed just a little bit more (usually set it at about 6/10 if not the synthness will be lost in the mix).
Finally the IE Xerograph Deluxe, basically a "wah" pedal for me. It's a filter, similar to the MF101 for you moog fans, but much smaller and some say it sounds better. Very versatile filter, and I like it a lot. The Mission Engineering Pedal is used as an expression pedal to control the freq of the filter enabling me to play it like a wah.
The blue expression pedals (the NOSE and the Nose 2) are to control the various parameters of the Freqbox (mix & FM amount... with a spare one haha).
The yellow expression pedal is a passive volume pedal which allows me to adjust my volume on the fly.
Underneath the board I have a splitter so I can output 2 signals, 1 to FOH & 1 to my amp.

All cables are Mogami, custom made by TY Music. Great guys.

Redoing my board atm... back to the PT Pro.

downsize my board ;p i want something light and something that works good for tours especially this year both my bands are touring, especially those type of tours that i need a compact board that fits into a backpack or cabin luggage since airline 15kg is just nice for my bass.

Hah! I KNEW you were getting the B3! Suddenly selling off all that gear, and saw your posts in the Talkbass thread about the B3!

Is it finally released outside of Japan or did you mail order it from amazon.co.jp? How is it? Esp the comp, EQ, modulation and time-effects?

quite fun, imho more road and bass friendly than the M9. lotsa nice usable effect, i would gig with it, jam with it, drop it in a bag and tour with it. but i won;t record with it :).

got it like a few days after City Music shipment came in, was camping for it for awhile.

the B3 works great, just came back from a tour and the DI works really good. FOH was a happy camper..

Another B3...Did you do a comparison to the M5 or M9? Just got an M5 for my small board but wondering if I should replace it with the B3 instead. Must say I'm not a big fan of modelling though. They always seem to sound aritificaial to me.

hi bro, havent played with it much, but modulations are at par with line 6 (at least for my ears) everything else hasnt really explored yet. But a quick initial test I agree to some of what lordie said. purchased it for a little looping, DI/amp modelling for ampless gigs and for late night silent practice. If you are looking for analog sound, you will not find it attractive as no multi's can really compare to analog pedals, unless you have a lot of cash to spend. :-)
