erm im in a dilemma...

i dunno which to choose...
an olp
a squier
or
an ibanez...

im really spoilt for choice...that day i tried this ibanez gsr 200, there was something wrong with its fretboard. i played one note on the 12th fret and it sounded off tune...but somehow, it has very good reviews by many ppl and dunno whether only that place its bass got something wrong...

i like olp due to its shape, I REALLY LOVE STINGRAY!
the squier coz of its tone...
and ibanez coz the basses are cool and its good reviews...

PLS HELP ME make my choice T_T

eh thx cherns..
rdm got olp?
coz davis no sale T_T

btw, is there any stingray copy for any other brands than stagg?

olp

olp retails at $495..

seriously dunno whether to buy since davis got no sale...
then swee lee sale coming and to get an ibanez at $300++ is really a steal..

i still cant make my decision... jus went to davis to have a look at olp bass, THEY LOOK SWEET! and wow at the pickup selector, can change 4 sia!

tried a squier, and it really feels smooth and nice! love the tone as well

id save to buy a mij fender.
but thats just me.

my recommendation is to try all (which you did) and choose the one you feel most comfortable playing OR the one that has the tone you want.

squier

squier the feel nice, but its a bit more expensive than olp....

i jus cant make up my mind, the 5 way pickup for olp is really appealing to me too lols....

i think ibanez is out, since i tried it in another place and the tone jus sux to me ><

don't worry about the switching on the OLP for now. just get what feels right :) if you get the OLP and the feel isnt as good you'll regret not buying the squier.

IMO, Feel and Tone is really an important factor in bass playing then comes the bass' features and specs and then the appearance.

If the bass fits like a glove to my hand and the tone is really awesome, i wouldn't think twice about it. Let the bass choose you...you'll know, you'll feel it.

Good luck!

OMG I WASTED all ur time....
so sorry!!!!
as well as thx for ur views =)

jus went to city music sale jus now, GOT MYSELF A HAMER!

the sound is great, i think better than squier (jus preference)
and the design really stole my heart =)

looked at the price and for gig bag and tuner to come along with it, its really a steal!

i recommend u guys to hamer man.. the sound dam clear!
if u wanna support local, get craftman, the tone is great too!...

hey man, if you think that the hamer sounds better than a squier, why not. i don't think there are any die hard squier fans out there...

the most important thing is that youre satisfied, then no regrets :)

yeah, the most important thing is that YOU feel good with it, don't care what brand and make it is man.

as long as you think it's good, that's good enough.

Let me give you my best advice...

Save up, get all three. You're not looking at 3 expensive basses. Buy one, save up, get the other two.

The next year will be the best time to shop because of the recession. The second hand market will probably serve you well. Get all 3 at good prices. When you want something better, which I guarantee you will, you can always sell a couple, or even all 3 and make a decent profit. With nearly a thousand dollars plus savings over the months/years. You'll be able to get a nice bass to last you a lifetime.

Besides, by getting all 3, you will be able to test out 3 of the more popular tones around. After that, you will most probably take a preference to which bass you like best. If you decide to get a MIA, a Prestige, or a EBMM, or even better, a pre-EB MM, your money from selling the 3 basses will get you near. Except for the Pre-EB MM.

My ning kak ji...

1. you save up and buy 3 cheap basses

2. you sell 3 cheap basses, buy a more expensive bass.

3. you save up and buy another 2 more expensive basses.

4. you sell all 3 more expensive basses, buy an even more expensive bass.

5. repeat the pattern till shiok
