Hey there, NEW to bass totally!

excited bout playing the bass cause i suck at the guitar,

well i know there are many different types of guitar strings out there at swee lee and davis, but most of them carry very few or limited bass strings,

wanna know if theres any shop that specializes in carrying different type of bass strings.

and care to share what type of strings u are using now and how does it feel or sound thks!

I'm using D'addario XL, its durable, bright and comfortable so it quite ok.

I'm hearing a lot about DR's steels, might try that after my current one is broken or worn out.

What kind of sound are you looking for? And it isn't fair to assume that the bass is easier than the guitar and that you'd have no probs with the bass.

Rotosound roundwounds are nice too, and D'addarios are bang for buck if you know the right place to get them from. Currently Im using sadowsky blue labels and they feel and sound realli awesome, especially after they have aged.

hey dude hehe not saying bass is easier, just making a statement that i tried playing on the guitar but its harder to pick up because of the finger placing for the notes and all, of cos bass would have its fair share of toughness as well, but im not there yet, so like i said, new to bass here to learn cheers man :)

looking for sound thats mellow and able to sustain. yup

hey kirin!, hmm where to look for the D'addarios collection of bass strings? hahas interested in those that are flatwounds though :) any recommendations?

you can find the D'Addario Chrome flatwounds at TYMC. can't remember the price, they're definitely cheaper than most other brands though. if you're looking for flatwounds, i'd recommend those.

All my bass are with D'addario XL. I dont like it bright when new though; I prefer the warmer tone when it's seasoned.

its near davis? at peninsula plaza its kinda hard to spot its nearer the music theme side :P hope that helped u

hmm alright, i'll pop by there then, i googled chrome strings, can't wait to lay my hands on the flatwounds, hope its gonna be smooth and awesome! hahas thanks!
