Bass recommendation for Metal or Hard Rock

try an active bass. the sound tends to be more metallic and glassier. not for mellow kinds of music. but then again it always differs from bass to bass

just go to the shops , try out different basses. Find the suitable sound and feel for it then grab it !

hey,i saw this bass, Dean Dime Razorback 4-String Electric Bass, and it seems to catch my attention..It do look right for the genre I'm playing but i need to ask whether it sound good(for those who have a Dean Dime bass)?

It cost around $1,600.In the US it is costing 799USD.

So what do you guys think???
