and while you're at rey rey's question.... what's the difference between an analog pedal and digital one, electronically? as in, wat's the difference in the circuit board?
overdrive works based on increasing your signal level and then clipping some of the circuits (driving them past the part where they pass the signal unaltered).. the origin of this effect is from people blasting tube amps....
Distortion adds harmonical related (mostly) noise to the signal so even at zero setting there will still be a big change in the sound of the instrument.
fuzz is basically a very over the top distortion...
as for analogue verses digital... well all the componants in a true analogue pedal pass the audio signal as a modulating electric current that represents the audio signal.
the effect is achieved by changing the shape of that modulation
in a digital circuit that modulating current is converted into a binary code which basically reduces the whole thing to series of ones and zeros.
digital effects work but changing the ones and zeros according to a set pattern
hi pple, i actually has a post regarding od and distor pedals.. i think its at the must have pedal thread. juz to help u all save time discussing something discussed. haha anyway, if u need help ask kicky, he knows quite abit

the difference between analog and digital is something like the difference between watching naked dancing ladies at a strip club and watching porn on your computer
I can second superkicky on the fulltone bassdrive mosfet! Really a kick ass OD with the potential to sound heavier, with an extra boost to add more gain and it retains or even adds a little more low end! =o
