Bass amp and guitar for starters

Hi
what bass amps do you guys recommend?
im getting a yamaha rbx760a 4 string bass soon
it has got active pick ups

i wonder if its a good bass for starters


what amps do you guys recommend for 300-400 dollars?
preferably with 12inch speakers?
i heard 10inch not enough low end

but i could be wrong
please enlighten me

for a bass amp, 12" driver isn't a mandatory requirement, unlike guitar amps where anything smaller, the lack of bass is quite repulsive. i hear better bass tones coming from smaller drivers.

Are you going to invest so much on an amp and carry it to gigs?
When you jam with your band, is it @ a jamming studio which already provides amps?

Then get a Peavey Microbass Amazing amp in a tiny size and price.

The Yamaha F-20B is not bad either... it's what I'm using now actually.

i'd recommend small combos for home use, the Micro Bass mentioned here is a wise choice with the Ibanez Soundwave units.

however, if you can afford that aforementioned Hartke-why not? 8)
