Bareknuckle Pickups!

I was at TYMC yesterday trying the trainwreck clone they had down there and I noticed they had a few bareknuckle pickups. Some humbuckers like cold sweat and single coils and so on. As you know, bareknuckles are expensive and would cost you close to 200-300 region to ship them in.

Out of curiosity I asked them how much they would cost and I was surprised to find out that they were so reasonably and competitively priced : Around 199 for a humbucker and 133 for a single coil, and 350 for a set of 3 single coils... If i remember correctly it was the apache set.

Was very tempted to give these a shot but I've already pulled the trigger on my manlius pafs... But for 199... I mean why not?

Oh and I also found out one more thing....as they are the dealers...they can get you any model you want....at no extra charge.

Just thought some of you folks who wanna get bareknuckles might be interested to know! :D

ohhhh! are u serious, thats sick. ive been wanting the bareknuckle black dog pickups for a long time, but price+shipping has always stopped me! thanks for informing us!!

yup, give them a call or sth lah.

Anyways, the guys at TYMC are great to deal with.. always accomodating and very service orientated without the "attitude" we all know some local shops sometimes exhibit.

Not many folks here know that they carry Bareknuckles though...so here's a heads up!

Thanks for the heads up...I thought that bareknuckles were carried by another group...this is great news..and the prices are definitely competitive :)

Cool, didn't know that TYMC knows brings in Bareknuckle PUs. Always a pleasant shopping experience at TYMC. Highly recommended!!!

Good price for the Bare Knuckles. Service is good too.

I'm currently using The Mule set on a Gibby LP, and the Rebel Yell set on an NNG H-H Tele. IMO, they're excellent pickups.

What are you getting? Mick is custom winding mine...;) He told me mine should ship out today.

custom wind too :) still discussing with him though. wanted to go with wolfetones, but his 20% discount ended start of this month so it has gone out of my price range. totally forgot how darn cheap manlius pickups are.

probably 7.3k A2 in the bridge and 8.1k A2 in the bridge..

^ yeah, considering a custom HSS set for my strat. haha. But i think ill change out the bridge assembly on my strat first..

Dudelove: A little off-topic, but I'm using Wolfetone Dr. Vs in my R8 and they are BY FAR the best PAFs I've tried. So I'd love to hear the Manlius-es for the sake of comparison :D

+1 for the guys at Ty music. Highly recommended if they have the stuff you want.

I've only bought picks from them from going to their shop quite a few times but I found them to be very pleasant with no airs. Prices are pretty good too for the new stuff they bring in.

Nice. Mick has been really great with his service so far, I was originally planning to go for a Landmark PAF and a Modern Vintage in the bridge. However due to my edwards being bright and lightweight, he advised me to go more for a fat diane in the neck and also he'll wind my modern vintage about 5% hotter to smoothen out the highs. He even threw in a free pickup cover for my set since i recommended another friend to get from him too!

the Manlius are really nice pickups...they'r a tad smoother than what Stan is putting out but they'r still very diggable, raw and full of clarity. I hated the duncans in my edwards and I dint wanna go with stan hinesley cos his backlog and waiting time is ridiculous...its still not too expensive but who wants to wait 3 months for a pickup?

Mick's pickups cost only about 75 usd and his turnaround time is about a week. As of now even when i write this, the pickups are already on their way :)

We should do a shootout once you get yours.... I'd be interested to hear how his A2 pickups sound like! i guess getting page tones should be a breeze :D

wolfetone dr. vs sound the best from all the soundclips. well, i'm sure all of these winders know what they're doing. i'm very short on cash at the moment, i had to sacrifice my skreddy screwdriver for cash to get those manlius. i would have stuck with the dr. vs had the sale continued.

i'm very happy with the way mick replies my emails. super quick, super helpful and really a breeze to just bombard him with questions.
