hello beautiful people..

im actually thinking of a trip to Bali with my girlfriend..
however, im not sure how to set a budget to spend my time there..
like for flight ticket, accomodation,etc..

i went to bintan the other time..and gosh, the things there cost higher than
what i see in spore!!

anyone here care to share on how u plan ur trip?
and share ur experiences too..
i heard that in Bali, u cant wear green to the beach, due to the
spirits liking it or something..im not really superstitious though, but it seems interesting..

Well in my book, budgeting happens irrespective of the destination.

You set what you can afford upfront, and this determines then where you can go, and then how you get there, where you will stay and what you can spend when you are there.

First thing you need to do is set a figure of your total spend, i.e. say to yourself 'ok, I can afford to spend $3000 for this whole trip.'. Then ask yourself, 'how many days do i want to go for?' Obviously you need a shortlist of places you want to to go to - in your case Bali. So first, go find out how much a flight to Bali is (don't forget the taxes etc.). Subtract this figure from your total spend ($3000) and divide the remainder by the number of days you want to go for. This will let you know hoow much you can afford for hotel and spending money.

Seems obvious? :)

Depends on your budget...

I have been there once, there are always high end hotel and budget hotels,

even airlines there are few to choose from..

during my times I took Bouraq Air, cheapest at that time..now there is budget air going there, if not SQ 's the best.......

bali has all around cost from cheap to premium, just search in internet or asks travel agents in singapore.

there is logic for not wearing green and blue shirt to the beach, if something happens to you you will be harder to visible. wear red !!

try not just go to main tourist area..

visit places like Tenganan, Ubud, Candi Dasa..East Bali quite interesting....

not the usual Kuta Beach where most tourist go to

haha!! no,no..
it came out on incredible tales..
many of the bali villagers let go of the 'things' they wanna get rid of into the sea..
well at least, that was what utt said..heh

you need to get a contact for a taxi driver/tour guide. preferably one who will not rip you off. you pay per destination/itinerary.

the hotel can probably fix you with a driver/guide. but what i normally do for this kind of thing (if i have no contacts prior) is to ask the hotel to get someone the first time. subsequently, i would have brudder-ed him and gotten his contacts.

the reason being, it is a common practice for the hotel (may be the hotel staff rather than the hotel itself) get a cut from fixing you with a guide/taxi. if you go direct it would be cheaper.

but personally if i was in a situation where it was me, my gf, bali, hotel, the script is kind of already written

i strongly recommend the hard rock hotel in kuta. close to the shopping district. and boy are the amenities good. really suited for the younger gen. and the hrh/hrc house band is fantastic. the best bohemian rhapsody cover i have ever heard live (operatic parts included. haha)
