How do you awaken your vibrato?
I've been researching the Internet and there have been a divided opinion about how one could go about awakening Vibrato.
1) Singing techniques such as trilling, diaphragm control and the gospel jaw. Some say it is incorrect /unhealthy and leads to wobbles while others say it differs from people to people and might just work for you.
2) Keep singing with the conventional good support and breathing techniques and your vibrato will awaken.
Age is another factor and when we reach maturity, vibrato will usually manifest itself.
Unfortunately I'm not so fortunate with Vibrato. I've sang in a Choir for 4 years during my teenage years and now that I'm 21 I realized I've yet to awaken my vibrato. Some might disagree with me on this but I feel that all successful singers out there have vibrato in their singing. Be it subtle or the insane vibrato in operas and musicals, we are naturally attracted to vibrato in singing and it really distinguishes the accomplished singers from the amatures.
So how and when did your Vibrato awakened?
Should I try those thrilling techniques or stick with the conventional method of singing till Vibrato manifests?
Or simply the fact that some people are not meant for singing and Vibrato will never appear.
I would appreciate advices because it's really frustrating trying to bring out the Vibrato in your singing but it just doesn't appear.
