talent nurturing should be effective in the primary sch setting as well. the budding years are the best formative time for talent development.

Hi Sub, do you know how's the current music lessons for primary school children? Are they learning to play any instrument?

yes- currently there is a module to learn playing the harmonica. some schools engage external vendors to conduct music-based lessons for post-exam activities, the Prodikeys module is an example.

Many primary school offer guitar lesson on Pri 5 or 6. I once help to stand in to teach a primary school about Garageband. All these music lesson are mostly tender. Actually, many private music school fight over many kind of music program to the school. They even dare to buy professional app like Logic Express and Final Cuts Express as seem on TV news. One primary school near my home can hear playing pop rock band.

I think many school learn that playing music make child brain work more. They hope their child can be smarter by playing music.

music works the other side of the human brain- the creative side. in school, the academics often wear out the right side of the brain, the logic side. the human entity excels differently, some of us are lousy with our studies but we are more creative than everyone else. the emphasis in school has always been academics with art & music being fringe activities.
