 Rudra video

the video is cool except for the last part... they just staring blankly! hahaha

aryaputra is the best!!

onward with VEDIC metal!!!!

well in my opinion ..some of these metal bands rip during live performance..
they`re not that hot during vid shootout...

maybe they`re not properly warm up :)
just a thought..

bro Shred wat do u expect of a metal band??
yup nothing of interest to you perhaps...well they dont shred .
and do some kinda funny shit..as a matter of fact i have not seen a metal
band that super technical in sg...

its just a matter or tight playing.

i suggest u download necrophagist vids...they might be ur cup of tea..
cheers...

hmmmm.... penguin, I don't expect a metal band to do weird stuff or shred lots... just that this particular song was really normal.. its just... normal... nothing much to it?

I mean, I think Pantera is good, they got their groove metal thing down. They don't do funny stuff and they aren't considered technical shred... but listen to their song stuctures.. the way they go thru the different phrases... it keeps your interest there...

And there's Iced Earth too... not shreddy or weird... but listen to the incredible rhythm Jon Schaffer plows out. Thats something...

Blind Guardian has the same old epic vibe going on in their thrash/power metal but Hansi brings it thru with spectacular vocals.. plus they dont'; follow a standard verse chorus verse chorus pattern...

IMO, there's only 2 ways to stand out... be really good or be different.. granted, I bet Rudra has been trying hard to sound tight and so on, but I think they have some way to go?

Anyway, I'm not trying to be overly critical... just.. well... healthy discussion perhaps? :) Lets take it lightly please.

Thank you very much for viewing the Rudra video, this is the only video we shot with Rudra. James and I shot this video out of passion for local bands. We funded the video ourself with very little money but we make the best out of whatever equipment we have. I did the lighting , rigged the overhead cam for the drummer and the cam on the guitar body for the lead solo and direct and shoot the video.

We used 2 camera for the shoot, James operating one and I the other camera. What you see is a actual music video shoot set up meaning Rudra has the play the song over and over again to get what we want for the video. It is not easy shooting a music video, that's why they might not have the crunch in certain parts of the video. It was really a pleasure working with Rudra as they are really very patient and helpful and so is Joshua and Sean of blackisle for letting us shoot there.

James is very busy and tied up now as he have to bring his dad to the hospital everyday. Once he is free of any major commitment I would love to shoot another video with him and this time we will make it better with more creative move that has never been done in any ang moh MTV

Thank you

“Vedic metal” is a term most people will not know, however Singapore’s Rudra (the Hindu god of storm) bring a mystical spirituality to the blackened thrash viciousness of their music that explains the term without words.

On BRAHMAVIDYA: PRIMORDIAL I, the band’s fourth album, Rudra’s lyrics once again tap into the philosophies of the ancient Veda, crafting a sonic landscape that is simultaneously brutal and beautiful. Sanskrit lyrics are once again mixed with English and the use of exotic traditional instrumentation is offset by searing guitars, punishing drums, while Kathir’s raspy, snarled vocals is occasionally mixed with his own chanting and an ethereal female voice. Shiva’s drumming really stands out on this album as does the improved production and spellbinding music.

Adding cultural significance and traditional flair to music is hardly a novel idea (see Melechesh, Sepultura, Finntroll or Nile, for example) however Rudra does it so well and so seamlessly that the fact they are still relatively unknown outside Southeast Asia is a crime. This is truly a brilliant release from start to finish that just may change that."

This is just one of the many great reviews they received.

Good effort, but maybe have some moving camera's? Add a bit of dynamics..other wise you get a sort of..security camera feel? Also, try to cut the clips shorter..keep the eyse working. 8) Good stuff though - I liked the guitar cam - maybe rig it so that you have it look from the other side as well (Iron Maiden style) and switch between em during the solo?

yes Shred its a healthy discussion..
i would not compared Rudra to those other bands that u mention..
im looking somewhere ard the southeast region...

there are really talented bands in sg..

...man that sounded gay...

i love his technique!HE IS AMAZING! :prayer: to siva!

I think it's pretty tight, tho' I'm not a fan of metal...
Just curious, how do pple sing like that without spoiling their voices? Is it technique?

Pier.

its noting really if u do that over time u will get used to it.

start growling everyday and u will see that nothing happens :P

i think it does take a toll on their voice. corey taylor rarely, if not never sings like he used to anymore.

Wtf, great video guys! Nice work! I like the idea of putting the camara on the guitar and see those fingers move during the solos.. Ahaha... Nicely done!

I tried but my voice becomes hoarse after extensive growling haha... think my voice not made for growling.

Pier.
