arpeggios

haha makes you look cool :P neh joking. but thats partially. just another technique to master in the process of learning guitar. and yes in general it's usually part of a scale

well i feel arps help you alot in your phrasing and well, in going into modes as well, basically it opens alot of doors for you and you'll look cool doing it too! lolol

hi guys...just wanna enquire...erm whats the point of learning arpeggios? isnt it part of a scale?

When you play a solo, playing the ful scale sometimes sounds stupid. So, it's more melodic to play CERTAIN notes in a scale only. That's where Arpreggios come in...

yeah playing appreggios makes you look cool.like going from 1st string to last string in quick time.super cool.and makes it sound a little bit like classical music as in like the beethoven kinda stuff.i think.

Arpeggios are nice and you will do well to have it as part of your arsenal. Essentially, it requires the playing of each note on a per string basis, based on chord fingerings - as a generl guideline. Of course you could do two notes per string or on certain strings.

So, what you do is pose a chord with your left hand and then hit each string, one at a time. For lead playing, your fingering obviously has to be different as, you won't be able to do barre chords while playing arpeggios, well, at least I can't.

It does have that classical/neo-classical feel to it. But depending on how fast and strong you hit the strings with accentuation with the left and right fingers, you can get a very jazzy/fusion feel as well.

Cheers and Have Fun!
