Are Telecasters heavy?

I would reckon a craftman tele would be better than a squire bullet. I've tried a Craftman and it feels and sounds pretty good for its price. If you're in doubt, just head to citymusic and try it. No need to hurry when it comes to shopping for guitars.

im guessing the bullet is made of plywood thus its weight and the sound..
im guessing from the site dat the craftman's tele is alder,so i feel the 60$ is slightly more worth it..and anyway i feel its better to have more pickups to toy around with..one humbucker is rather restricted in terms of sound..altho sometimes simple set ups are amazing..so i say go for the tele!!! or even some of the strats..

btw the thinline in the site looks appealing

yeah i've tried both the thinline and the normal tele..obviously the thinline is lighter..but it costs $35 more...i'm not sure i'm willing to pay $35 more for the thinline...

But i can't afford to spend $35 more...well i can but i'm gonna be left with so little money to last until i get another job..

Haven't tried the Bullet. But the Craftman teles at city music are pretty sweet!

I'm a tele player as well.. So when I picked up the tele at city music to test out one of the Vox amps I was surprised at the sound and playability for that price.

Sounds like a tele.. Plays like a tele.. for that price.. it's pretty worth the money! ;)

My only word of caution is that if you get a new piece make sure you test out that piece to see how it's set up and sounds. New pieces may not always be set up right.

i'm not aware if the current production has reverted to plywood. my final opinion- if you can afford other guitars, please do.

i did some research on the bullet special and i realised that the material used for the guitar isnt consistant..some are 'solid hardwood', some 'agathis', and some 'laminated hardwood'..
and yea i have to agree with sub, if you can afford other guitars get em..

Hey guys, thanks for all your info. Really appreciate them. I've finally bought it. The Craftsman TL30 in sunburst(the only finish they had left). It's true that it is really damn good for the price. I'm sure it'll last a very long time. And it turned out to be way lighter that how i expected. The action/finish/sound/feel/weight were just fine for me. It's better than expected considering it's not really a well known brand. Thanks guys and thanks S.O.F.T.!!

haha glad that you bought something you like..after playing it for a few months next step is to mod it to suit you better!! if u like vintage sounds, u shld really try tonerider, very good price for such good pickups..

but no use putting good pickups on a body which is inexpensive right? Sorry la... but yeah, IMO...

price isnt the main thing to consider when modding a guitar. the craftman tele is using alder, so are you trying to saythe alder used in fender and the alder in the craftman tele is different?they might differ slightly but still the price isnt the main point of consideration..i have seen cheap guitars that are far better than some expensive guitars i've tried.

Okay i m trying to say for example, putting a floyd rose in a guitar. it may cost more than a new guitar which got floyd rose. and many expensive guitars are expensive because of their brands... i know and there are other good and brandless guitars which are cheap. Lol. and some inexpensive guitars uses the same type of wood as GIBSON uses. I m not trying to say that gibson wood are the best or whatnot, but their wood are not bad. and there are many kinds of wood like maple mahogany. and under these categories, there are still wood grades... and some expensive guitars got lots of technology in them but got no quality. of course, when you love your guitar, price isnt the issue. there are many brands of canned products. for e.g., there are canned luncheon meat. you can choose to buy the made in china one which is very economical. you can also choose to buy the holland one which is not cheap. they are both luncheon meat but from different places with different quality. ;-)
