anyone experienced anything like dat before?

yea it happened to me before but only in china, where the wires, extension cables etc were all of ****ed up quality. Maybe did you use a faulty extension cord for the first time which u din use after that? or maybe it's just a loose connection,,,,

that was the God of Rock communicating with you.
no, seriously, I have no idea. Any techie-inclined pple care to explain?

dude, i was laughing so hard my jaw hurts!!!

but on a serious note, like Raley said, it might be bcos of the plughead. i've seen the ibanez tonemaster amps and they have these weird funky looking plug head. i suggest u change that to the "normal" 3 pin head instead. u can get that easily at hardware stores. the shock might b because the grounding is bad. but since u had it only once, maybe its ok now... but dun take the risk tho. electric shock is one serious thing...

Ya boss, no joke especially when i'm using a avt50. 50W of rock running through my body. shiok ah! haha!

actually its more than 50W, only 50W of power is sound, theres more power being drawn to generate the 50W, gotta check at the back of your amp,

ha ha My fren just bought an iron cobra double pedal (power glide) there for just 470 with free tama drumsticks too.

yeah, the services there are really good and the prices are really cheap, wish they could have bringing in more stuffs

Wahaha.. thanks for the replies... erm, the default cord that was included in the amp's package were those that are similar to the computer's power supply cord too... the normal 3-pin ones... so that probably wasn't the problem... grounding bad? errr... how to check ah? wahaha...

but since now it doesn't happen anymore, maybe i'll just leave it as it is lah... hope that it doesn't suddenly come and shock me one of these days again lah... *prays hard* haha... the though of it is pretty scary though... :?

i got my megadrive...rg321's neck pickups form there...indeed very gd service...the first time i saw tt pickup i knew i must haf it..but no $$$...they offfered to reserve it for me till further notice...the next day i rushed dow nto buy it:)

Hi, 3 pins as in which end?? The amp's end or the wall end?? Important is at the wall's end must be the 3pin UK type, all 3 pin into the wall. Not the round with 2 round pins into the wall only.

There is another possibility, is when you are unpacking the stuffs, the plastic bags charged your body with static. So when you first play, the guitar is earthed properly and is discharged thru the strings as the strings are also link to common on the terminals via the bridge. So only a one time occurrence.

Even without earth, small amps should not be 'live'. As the transformer isolate the working voltage (low) from the wall voltage (live 230V).

Grounding? In 3-pin cords, one of the pin is usually a ground wire, isn't it?

ahhh.... u mean that... now i get it... but now i have another prob... the socket is all wrapped up, not like the normal white sockets u buy from DIY shops where u can easily take a screwdriver and screw out the screws on the head... this one has no screws on it... its all like wrapped up.. tightly... so i can't open it up to check if the ground wire is properly sitted in...

Really wanna thank all of you for ur suggestions and views... haha... abit paiseh... hijack the thread... sry evilgtr~! for mine.. its both 3 pins, at the amps end and the wall end... the wall end is like any other normal 3-pin flat rectangular kinda pins, where all of them go into the wall...

maybe u are right mikemann... why didn't i think of that... yeah, i've seen videos on the internet on how people's fuel tank caught fire when they are topping up their petrol... as in they put the thingy into their fuel tank and leave it to fill up the tank by itself... den to go back into the car do get some things and come back out... once they touch the refuelling thingy (dunno wats tat called, suddenly slipped off my mind) the whole thing goes up in flames... and the explaination for that was becoz when u go back into ur car, the leather seats of ur car charges ur body with static charges and so when u go back out and touch the refuelling thingy... the fuel sort of catches fire and burns due to static charge... scary... come to think of it... wat u said might be true... no wonder its like a one off thing...

Indeed.. I just came back from there... lawrence was rly helpful. Didnt buy anything but he still asked me to try the guits.

Now.. anyone wants to help me? Buy my 7 string peavey so I can get that floyd rose 7 string.
