Yeah man... i have to agree with evilgtr about their service... both lawrence and lily were very friendly, patient and also humourous. As i was new to guitar, lawrence explained quite abit to me about the guitars and gave me advice on the equipment to pick. I told him i wanted a guitar more suitable for rock playing, and he recommended the RG321 to me. as i din how to play, he played it for me to let me listen to the sound of the RG321... haha... he demo-ed it for a good 10 mins plus, den took another guit he also recommended (can't remember which model, but something from the gio series), and demoe-ed for another like 5 mins. den i told him i was gonna come back later in the night to buy it... he said ok and told me they close at 8pm.. went back there at about 7:45 and asked him if he could demo the rg321 again for me... and this time... i even asked him if he could demo it in their jamming studio at the back of the shop cos i wanna hear how it really sounds with those bigger amps that the jamming studios have... he willingly went into the jamming studio and demo-ed it. convinced, i gave the nod and bought the guit together with the ibanez tonemaster 25watt amp which he demo-ed the guitar on and said it was good enough for home practice... as i was settling the payments with lily, he still took out a cleaning cloth to wipe the guitar and ensured that it was fingerprintless and even taught me the correct way to clean the strings too. then both of them (lawrence and lily) gave suggestions to help me choose a suitable strap to match the colour of the guitar too... they two even had a small joking "argument" about each others fashion sense when they were helping me to choose the guitar strap too... damn funny... lily also asked me to choose 5 picks of my choice ($5 worth altogether) for free... went home a happy person... and about their computer... yeah, i saw lily turning the monitor around to let another customer to surf the net to find info about guitars they din have at their shop, thumbs up man...
i went guitar scouting b4 and was already saving up for a schecter diamond series guitar... but their hospitality and patience, combined with the 40% sale and the good review mr subversion gave on the rg321, convinced me enough to get the rg321 in which i found that i quite liked it also, after getting a feel of it... so yeah... my very first electric guitar became the rg321... bottomline here is that, service at allmusic is very good. Would return there to get future equipment...
anyway, just a question to all the guitar veterans out here... i went home, unpacked the amp, plugged the guit in to play, and guess wat? at first when i was playing in the clean channel, i already felt abit of electric current in the strings when i played it... den, when i switched to overdrive, and touched the strings, i got an electric shock from the strings sia... there was sort of a surge of current running through the strings and it was so strong, my whole body felt stunned for like 3 seconds and my heart started beating quite fast... so i quickly switched off the amp and i could still feel abit of current on the strings after switching off... i dunno why... i went to the kitchen drank abit of water, composed myself.... came back a few minutes later and turned the amp back on again.. den i tried slowly touching the strings... nothing... no more current... and after this very first electric shock nothing like this happened again when i play on the guitar... Wat actually happened the first time round? anyone experienced anything like dat before?
