Anyone sound engineers here ?

I am not exactly sure what does sound engineer do, but I know what is a Recording Engineer and Mastering Engineer.

I have scrutinized a lot of syllabuses before on market: SAE's, SOMA's, Altron, and all the poly new recent sound courses, Berklee's courses, U.Miami, one French accoustic school, another eastern europe one(can't remember the name). Haven't check out German Audio Eng syllabus...

I have to stress that a recognised _Engineering_ degree that is academically recognized (by IES or AES) must have Engineering Maths, EEE knowledge is essential. For music engineering, maybe also need to study accoustics and signalling theory(a lot of maths again).
Although music knowledge is not always required.
For most people who choose to study these always often have some knowledge of music background.
Cannot just learn practical stuffs without Maths and theory.
The mathematical precision in Engineering is just as rigorous as perfection in all various Arts.

But no accreditation is ok anyway if you still can get a sound technician or recording engineer job. Most of the poly courses are sufficient to prepare people for hands-on work various kinds, in line with the govt push to develop the media industry and create jobs.
