Anyone possess a WII here?

Hi was thinking to get a wii. want do some research n ask some qns. Went to the wii sg forum, but require administration so i don't know where else to go.I thought of this friendly forum after that. Can someone help me.

I want to get a wii in japan heard it is much much cheaper but i was wondering whether if i get a wii in japan, can it be played in sg? those bought in japan please help me or those possessing Japan wiis. What are the disadvantages of japan wiis and those us wiis.

I think if you get a J-Wii you can only play jap games and if you get a US-Wii you'll only be able to play US games.. some region code bullshit, I hate this sorta stuff! like some DVDs.. pfft.

Anyway, you can get it modded to break the region code and play pirated (if you're into that sorta shit) but it voids your warranty or something like that.

Yes, you can play games bought in singapore on a japanese wii, but only JAP games. Games in other languages can't be played, I've tried. Unless you purchase freeloader, which allows you to play games from other regions without voiding your warranty.

oo thank u guys. I m getting it from japan so no warranty too. Just wanna ask if i mod it wats the diff? wats the region code abt?

Region code is like, if your wii from Japan, it can only play Japanese games, from US, can play US games..etc. Like a Playstation or something.

If you mod it, you can play US games on Jap Wii..etc. That's the difference, along with being able to play pirated games. Mod it right then can la, mine modded can play japanese pirated games, but can't play ANY sort of games in eng.. =_=

Japanese uses J-ntsc games. the WII very fussy one. wrong type of disc,cannot play.
But from what I've heard, sometimes it can depending on the game...

Not sure, not the proper mod perhaps. My english games mostly don't work, and there's alot of problems basically with Jap pirates games too. Wii's very troublesome sometimes. I'd probably stick to buying the games itself but Jap games are rather limited too.

how much did u buy yr wii, and wat did it come with?

i check online wii prices in japan. they say 25000 yen maximum for a japan wii, which is 340 sgd but tats in 2006 dec when it 1st came out, i guess the price maybe drop to 300.. is that crazily cheap?

Insanely cheap, lol. Mine was a gift bought from hongkong, so I'm not sure about the price.
