I couldnt reach the JTM on time

I think Im gonna order straight from Nik...does anyone own a Ceriatone(any amp)...I would like some feedback..and HOPEFULLY a chance to try it out....I dont like to buy something without trying

cheers

sorry ah .. i swooped in ahead of you..

but if it helps. The amp is very well made. i think problem is finding a good sounding cabinet to run it through.

The JTM45 clone i bought from Ben is "marshall" all the way, with ben's cab it was very fat ,but at my place with my cheap 5150combo 2x12 it sounded as i didnt close the back.

With a ts808 in front its very authentic old school tones... this amp takes pedals very well.
and its surprisingly ... not obscenely loud...

with volume at 12 o'clock its LOUD... but not muthabitchin loud like say compared to my ...60 watt 5150...

its very well built ... no frills marshall amp la...

look for good birch ply cab's .....the old beaten ones

Get speaker of choice ....rock on !!

The sad truth abt cab's in the market nowadays are bad quality recycled wood or worst, non wood types ..... :(

i do own a ceriatone jcm 800

its insanely loud even at master 0.5
therefore i havent crank it to its sweet spot yet
nik said its pre 7 and master at 6

id probably arouse the police's attention when i do that without an attenuator

but its very well made with tolex and wooden head cab.

well everdying, it really depends on what you looking for... personally i would prefer a higher clean headroom. But still overdrivable.
i think jtm45 is well known for its clean tone. but if you got the 18 watter , your head room will be affected, making it better for rock stuff and early breakup.

Niks exact words i quote

"Min,

Thanks for the email.

For a real versatile amp, I have to advise on the DC30.

You can get nice cleans, and also Vox and a bit of marshall out of it.

For the best cleans of all amps, get the JTM45. Nothing beats this amp, not
even Fenders, IMHO. Creamy complex organic cleans that make you want to lick
the syrupy sweetness out of the speakers. (I made that up myself, didn't go
to business school. Whaddaya think? :))

Seriously speaking, DC30 is great value for money. Some have AB-ed the amp
agaist real Matchless, without being able to tell the difference.

Sorry no wood cab. All tolexed currently.

Let me know..

Thanks!"

AND YOU KNOW WHAT?
he is right. but take note.. you need a good cab to do justice to the head.

I want to order, but cant make up my mind on either get the trainwreck liverpool or dc30.

Nik claims that the liverpool is the ultimate rock amp, but dc30 got 2 channels altho no channel switching.

Looking to order next mth. Need to look for cab also haiz, more $$$.

Gd thing is that they r in malaysia, so the shipping is cheaper haha

Chanmin,HydeSG:

I would be much obliged if I could try out the amps....did any of u get the PPIMV installed...i guess its a poor mans attenuator of sorts(not technically)

Ok Cabs:I heard a lotta soundclips..and I realized..its all in the speaker...so many marshalls sound like shit sometimes....through bad speakers....so Ive set a hefty amount for the speakers...anyone tried the Marshall 2x12 at Davis?

As for 18W:from the 18watt website....if you want completely clean tone....the 18w is not for you...you will run out if you crank it up...but if you play a strat...even maxed out..the 18w should still give you cleans on volume knob roll off...plus...there is no marshall CRUNCH like the 18W...my god..I could taste the peanuts...

A site I really liked for comparison of amps...

http://www.proguitar.de/AudioDemo/CompareAmps/CompareAmps.html

The DC-30 and the Trainwreck are nice amps.....but they arent great for rhythm for rock and roll....I need that Marshall Crunch

cheers

JTM45

Hi all, I can say Chanmin is right on the JTM45. I used to have the 18watt TMB and on the verge of getting the 100 watt...but the JTM45 is the right choice after looking and researching on JTM amps. Germino 45 has the perfect receipe, but look at the price. SGD Vintage JTM45 clone is also good, but on TGP forum, Nik's JTM45 seems to be a better favourite.

On the cab, Marshall cabs uses stock china Celestion 75 watts. I uses UK Celestion Greenback RI rated 25 watts. It may not do metal very well...but clean its warm and sweet. With a crunchbox or mayo fuzz...its smooth ala Eric Johnson...the perfect combinations.

Have fun bro. Still waiting for you to pick up the cab.

My 18W is due to arrive in 3 weeks.

I will run it through a custom made cab loaded 1x12 V30 celestion.

Then just play it no frills straight guitar to amp.

:)
