Hey SOFTies, I'm a fan of Stratocastor ever since I tried playing my friend' one.I am a acoustic guitarist but I've decided to take a step further and learn the electric guitar.I've done my research and found out that the Squier Strat is a good place to start.

I've found the white deluxe model and Swee Lee says it costs around $700, which is way above my budget.Ranking says they have something like cream that costs $270 , but I think I prefer it more white.Music Theme sells it at $300, but I'm trying to find one thats easier in the pocket.

The Squier website says that there are no Standard Strats in white but I have found a few.Is it because the Squier only mentions the guitars made in US, but not those made in Japan, Indonesia , Korea and China? Coincidentally, two of the white strats I've found are made in Indonesia.

Dude do get the cream one at ranking, probably IS white. And 270 is prolly the cheapest first hand squier strat you'll find here. But squier strats i think pales in comparison with the teles. Just my opinion btw.

All the best me homie.

There are no such thing as USA made squier stratocasters. Japanese squiers are rare and great while the most common squier stratocasters are made in china and indonesia. I'm not too sure bout korea though.

On the part of find a value for money strat, try looking round secondhand stores like guitar connection, stuff just pops in and out there. Otherwise, you can always look at a yamaha pacifica 112. Those arent too expensive, but are great strat-like copies.

Thks lots mate.Didn't know that... I tried the pacifica before. Can't match the feel and sound of a real Strat...

Try this shop at Parklane. Next to the Mac, is a small shop called Novelty Music. I got a white squier strat from there. Pretty decent, only about $270

Well, I cant argue about the feel of a real strat (or a lincensed copy in this case) but for sound, its not so much of the guitar but the amplifer. A $10,000guitar is not going to sound good through a $100 amp and a $100 guitar is most likey to sound 10x better than the latter through a $10,000 amp. Therefore, remember amp>guitar, just to let you know.
