Anyone knows how to solve wah pedal "sucking" of tone?

use an rmc wah =P
i think get a true bypass mod might help, and use a booster. or you can use an eq pedal after the wah...
alternatively, if you like your tone w/o the wah that much, just by a looper for the wah. when you're using it, then hit the looper - wah's in. hit the looper when you're not, and voila!

A lot of people here talk about tone suck but know zilch about the term tone suck. Monkey see monkey do.
When you say you put your wah into the signal chain and it sounds muddy, is the wah on or off?
if it is off, then you'll benefit by doing a true bypass mod. Funny though, I remember I saw 3 transistors in the new Vox circuit and one of the transistor should be configured as an input buffer, so tonesuck should be minimal.
if it is on, then you may need to tweak your wah a bit.

I have a question.. for tone suck, does turning up the gain or volume usually get rid of it?
sorry because i've never experienced any 'tone suck' in my setup before, maybe because my rig is simple?

nah not really.
1. Plug in your guitar directly into the amp. Note the sound
2. Plug in the effect in between the guitar and amp. Turn it OFF. Note the sound
3. Plug in some more effect one by one. Turn them all OFF. Note the sound.
4. Continue till you hear something or don't. You can find out which pedal sounds bad in Bypass mode.
Oh and make sure you use good quality patch cables lah.
If you hear a loss in treble/prescence, tonesuck.
If your sound is suddenly thin and wimpy, tonesuck.

ah thanks for the reply edder..
i think there is some infinitesmal tone suck but i can generally live with it. Haven't tried any wah pedals though..
its always great just plugging guitar straight into amp.
