Anyone else find that they're most comfortable with these kinda songs?

Mad - Ne-yo
Payphone - Maroon 5
Unbelievable - Craig David
Lights off - Jay Sean

And pretty much every other Ne-yo, Maroon 5, Craig David, Jay Sean song. What genre are these songs in? Ballad?
I can't do anything rough at all, my voice is smooth, doing anything husky at all makes me feel like I'm hurting my voice. I also have a super smooth, super steady falsetto/mixed voice that makes it perfect for singing these kinda songs.

What is the general popularity of these kind of songs in gigs? After looking up on the Musicians Market I noticed that most bands go for songs like Bon Jovi, Paramore and a whole lot of other genres that is loud as shit. And my voice is totally un-rock-like.

Anyone other vocalist find themselves in this kind of situation as well?

I find it hard singing rough songs too, it's easier to sing to these kinds for me.

Good news though because the crowd in Singapore don't really lean into finding a specific tonal quality in a singer but rather his/her stage presence and ability to carry and deliver a number on stage. =)

Generally, any popular songs on Singapore radio or at least regionally is good for most any gig!
