Any reviews on Gibson '57 Classic & Classic Plus PUs

i have dual '57 classics in my '61 reissue.
all depends what you want.
if you want a good rock sound, go for it.

define a good rock sound.

rock = sunn 0)))

rock = hendrix

rock = g&r

rock = blink 182

rock = ac/dc

rock = A rock is a naturally occurring aggregate of minerals and/or mineraloids.

haiyah... can use lah these pickups. if too expensive can look at the seymour duncan ones lor.

blues? like the say, just play it like you mean it.

blues tone is very wide ranging.
you got guys using LP's, SG's, V's, ES-335, Strats, Teles, and whatever they can get their hands on.

so anyway, the regular '57 classic is good enough for the bridge.
AFAIK the only gibsons that have '57 classics are all SG's.
SG '61 reissue & SG Supreme (classic in neck and bridge)
Angus Young model (classic in neck only)
and SG-3 (classic plus in bridge, classic in middle and neck)

what guitar is it going in anyway?

btw, get a SG-3 if you can, its a damn good value and priced the same as a SG Standard.

but yea, '57 classics are not exceptionally bright, if thats what you're looking for.
burstbucker pros is another one you could look at.
both are gibson's attempts at recreating the classic PAF sound, tho the burstbuckers have a better clean sound.

actually, i was actually looking into retro fitting my jazzmaster with '57 classics or burstbuckers if i can lay my hands on them.. i did some checking though, 260 USD ish for a pair of '57s..
