Just wondering, any keyboardist into power/symphonic/melodic metal music? From the likes of Dream Theater, Children of Bodom, Nightwish etc?

I'm currently having loads of fun playing around with the pitch shifter wheel on my keyboard! Right hand plays the melody while left operates the pitch shifter wheel....

Anyone into such kinds of music?

symphonic metal is a good stuff to enjoy keyboard shred. like in rhapsody, firewind, vision divine. symphony x and ayreon project have a lot of keyboard also.

i'm into those power symphonic metal stuff..
rhapsody,luca turilli,stratovarius,vision divine,kaledon,fairyland and many more..
i'm really into their keyboard solos and u noe how epic power metal keyboard sounds like.
yeah!!cool stuff!!hahaha

My keybordist is onto symphonic metal. The technique of programming and playing seems too cheem for an electric guitarist like me to comprehend!

metal keyboard

I think you need a keyboard which is totally made of metal to play metal. Right?

I think the keyboard stuff in metal music is not much different from that of normal pop or rock stuff. I mean like, all those symphonics strings sounds, kinda like the Titanic song like that. Hahah.

But yeah. I like.

=)

And yeah. I'm a monkey.

nahz. its not much different and its still relatively easy to play keys in metal. just that metal demands a lot on the strings sounds. rock and pop maybe not so, depending.

i always like to go for the electric buzz sound though. :p

It's kinda hard to find someone who plays the synths. I've posted up an add for a keyboardist for some weeks and i still can't find anyone. Anyway my band's been playing in the local metal scene since our formation in 2001. we're in need of a new keyboardist. check us out here:
