any ibanez tat . . . .

yep. i think u're right; AANJ is patented by Ibanez.

However, it doesnt mean that companies can't get a license from Ibanez, or have designs that are similar (the "cutaway" on some of the fender anniversary model is one of them.)

hmmm, whatever happend to ppl who like slightly thicker necks, all i hear on this forum is how good those thin ibanez necks are hehe

pardon me, personally i really don't like those wizard necks.

when i got into ibanez guitars years ago (PS: my oldest RG is 13yrs old this year... yes, i'm old too *sigh*), the SUper Wizard (discont'd) necks really got people talking. i got one myself & was very comfortable with it, to such an extent that i deem other neck profiles of other brand names, 'lousy'.

but along the way, i embrace other neck profiles/ makes because they give a different feel & inspire me to play differently. these days, i do not reject any neck types/ profiles because it's simply what other brand names have to offer & these manufacturers have no obligations to mould their products around the Ibanez offerings.

anyway, the Ibanez necks today aren't that overtly thin, if there are anyone here who tells you so, chances are they are trapped in time. also, Ibanez necks aren't about the Wizard profile exclusively, the SA/ SZ & even the Wizard II make have a marked amount of chunk in them.

i would advise players to play/ try as many necks as possible & go with the one which is the most comfy. 8)
