hi ya, got a budget of around 2k. i am thinking which guitar should i get. yeah. i love playing yngwie and g3 stuff yeah. at the same time im also into blues, country and rock ( gnrs, ac/dc and stuff ) yeah any guitar recommendation? i was actually thinking of getting a fender floyd rose, but it seems that it is made out of poplar wood nowsadays and 21 fret is really a crippled thingy for me yeah, i need 22 at least. anyway is there any fender tat have o floyd rose system with 22 fret with mapleboard? i prefer a stratocaster actually and superstrat turn me off abit, esp those without pickguard, no offence. if really cant find i guess i need to change my mindset to ibanez or probably get some stuff of from warmoth or ebay

or maybe should i get fender standard flyod rose and change to 3 single and cahnge the neck? how does poplar sounds like? nvr owned a poplar body wood, only know tat its in green in colour in nature which mean my favourite natural wood colour is out

hi there 8)

1. Fender has ceased to use poplar for their guitar bodies, the guitars mentioned below all sport alder makes.

2. These are Floyd-equipped Fenders available here in SG:

*Standard Series (Mex): HSS with locking trem
StdFatStratFR.jpg

*Deluxe Series (Mex): Strat HSS
42802.jpg

*Highway1 Series (USA): Showmaster HSS
90245.jpg

**I'm expecting replies warning against buying any Highway1 models because of the compromised finish, etc...

if you are keen on something with pickguard/ >22frets/ floating vibrato & you do not mind a non-Fender, i recommend this guitar:

Ibanez RG2550

hehe actually im a fan of telecaster :D owned a old discountied G&L telecaster which i will nvr sells :D

actually i found someting

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0101592764

American Deluxe Stratocaster® HSS with Deluxe Locking tremolo

i wonder can this withstand abuse of whammy bar? i dun think so right? if abuse lightly? hmm a american deluxe, defintly more than my budget, think i gotta eat grass for next month

juz went to check sweelee webby and saw the normal american deluxe strat going on for 2.4k. music123 is offering the same one for USD 1.1k . . . which is cheaper by quite alot argh

been a yngwie fan of course i will be attracted by his signature. sweelee was selling them for around 2.8k. went to ishibashi and saw there are actually 2 yngwie models, apperantly the difference between the 2 is juz between aged plastic and normal plastic and frets difference. a super jumbo ( the cheaper one) vs a specification of 6000 dunlop fret. does it worth it to get the one with dunlop fret? althought both of them excends my budget, i can squeeze out the money somehow. yeah one is going on for 148 yen and the other one with 112 yen which will be costing around 2.1? and 2.3? not too sure about the conversion as well. and one thing about scallop fret, i nvr had a chance to try before, but i will like to try it, yeah its not tat easy to play scallop, but im willing to spend the extra time to get use to it, heard tat sooner or later u will get use to it by juz slightly touching the fret otherwse it will go out of tone? hmm if its tat the well, isnt it very hard to play chords with scallope fretboard? or am i wrong? hmm

p/s is there any difference between yngwie sig found one ishibashi and fender.com? or its both the same juz different product origin?

It wouldn't take much abuse before going out of tune. A floyd rose is meant to be abused, not a vintage trem.
