Any drummers here are using cymbal/s from the Zildjian A Custom Rezo series?

Hi drumming kakis

Any one of you who are using any of the cymbals from the Rezo series? I know they're one of the latest designs of series from Zildjian but since their launch, i haven't seen or known of anyone using it - in spite of their superb sound qualities.

Would like to know drummers here who have used them first hand so can get a more reflective review on them (although there are aplenty of positive ones on other forums) especially from the local drumming scene.

Cheers.

Hmm ... Guess no one uses Rezos in SG .. Either that, they're not in this forum or are dormant ... :P

well I tried some rezos but they didn't really catch my attention. Then again im not really into metal or loud rock situations, so I can't really say how they sound. Perhaps bright, and maybe a little too much overtones for my liking.

They sound absolutely awesome on compressed internet sound files though, but that doesn't really say anything haha.

Well, that's true ... and don't think i saw any at Yamaha. I'd probably go to a music outlet when i'm on my trip this weekend and test it out.

Sound files are just for reference though ... not to be taken in absolute terms... i think most shd know that by now. :P

Still ... the question eludes ... no one here uses it? :P

actually there are prob people here using it but I find that there are a lot less active users on soft than I would have hoped... getting a response here is kind of hard...

also do me a favour there's this guy selling cymbals on the drums buy and sell and i'm looking at his 16" dark crash and 6" zil bell, but it seems rather inexpensive so much that it seems rather shady. still waiting for his email reply. hope he turns out to be an authentic seller and the cymbals are in good condition, maybe you can find something too. cheers =)

Hi, i have tried rezos in a gig, I can say that the rezos are not as bright as the Normal A custom medium crashes or hats or rides, They are the same A custom medium cymbal with a different lathing process, The 12" rezo splash from my fren was killer, The 16" crash sounds like a more mid pitch A custom crash while the 18" is too mid pitched for my liking, I adore the 14" hi hats alot, While the ride is not bad, hope that helps :)

Thanks buddy! I'm actually in HKG now and was at Tom Lee to check out the extensive range of cymbals. Came back and saw you posting this and I can't agree MORE with you! My exact assessment ... i'm definitely going for the A Customs since the cymbal set is going for quite a good offer!

They're having quite a big sale now... bought a few pairs of drum sticks which was going for 30% off! Got a pair of Ahead sticks for less than $45! :P Think this was sold for $55-60 in SG? If i got extra baggage ... might have carted a full drum kit back to SG too! hahaha ....

Waaa, i am jealous now! hahahaha, I was in hk during March, Please visit Parson music at Whompoa garden.. I got an pair of Vault hi hat for my church at $250 for their sale and i saw Vault artisan rides at $350 or even $300! The black beauties there are ridiculously well priced, if you are ever lucky to find one haha,

Btw, There should be some Dw snares there going at $600 sgd, as well as Zildjian K custom rides at only $280, try to go round Hk looking for other tom lee branches than the main one, The main one is set up to serve the overseas customers while the other smaller shops are giving "local" prices to the residents there, hope that helps :)

Any idea when the sale there will last until or when is their next sale? Cause im only going HK in december....

Excited about going there to pick up stuff, but i just want to ask. My school's drumkit cymbals are all entry level cymbals. If I can only afford to buy one good cymbal, which one should I replace first? Thanks =)

Oh oh and if you're going back anytime soon can please help me check out the prices of some cymbals?

Namely the K custom dark series (ride 22", crash 16",18"), K splash 8" and 14" K/Z hihats. No obligations but maybe if you happen to go there again and love looking at gear... haha sorry for the trouble :S

I will suggest the hihats or the main crash.

The december will be the awesome winter yr end sale! If you are getting something for your school drum kit cymbal, i would recommend you a Main crash or a ride, The difference between a High end ride or crash and a low end one is Big, hahaha

Year end sale? Sounds awesome!! I'll probably get a splash too though cause I really love the sound of splashes. I might even get two or more cymbals depending on my budget and how much those things cost in the sale!

Hopeful! Thanks for the replies! =)

U can get it in Sg too! Yamaha sale now , the prices for zildjians are insane man, Add me on fb or drop me a pm and i dont mind telling you the prices in sg, hehe.

I AM in sg LOL. and I did check out the prices. around 10-20% discount on certain cymbals like k custom hybrid crash 18" was going for 400 and k splash 8" for 135. But im thinking that maybe in hk its slightly cheaper, though i dont actually think im going to buy many cymbals. Also not entirely sure about customs tax on these stuffs. HAHA. must see see.

I like the splash but I think buying it now is as if i'm buying on impulse cause its cheaper. I don't actually need it since my kit is electronic, but just a perk, know what i mean? HAHA

A series medium ride for student pricing is currently around $299! A custom 12" splash at $160! Insanely great price, i just got my 18" efx, love it, absolutely digging it :D

Wonder why? Is it cause of the weaker US dollar or something?

But ohh boy i'm not made of money. Im kinda still a student so my money comes from you know where and I feel bad spending it since i'm not so sure abt financial situation at home, so doing research first. Then again if a good deal comes... LOL

Oh but I havent actually tried the zildjian A series yet. I love the sound files and they sound most similar to what i'm looking for which is nearer the K custom dark or K series. Just probably a bit brighter and more wash. Maybe you could tell me more? I may pick them over what I currently want if I like them ( I haven't gotten a chance to try them yet though!! :S )

i would tell you that currently in Yamaha, the cymbal that is really worth it, is the 21" crash ride at $400, or the k custom session ride at $400, those rides are insanely great, The k custom dry light ride is my fav, but the bell size is so SMALLLL ZZZ,
A series were the first cymbals ever created and they have a medium pitch light sound, they are more to the bright tone, and the A series ride are very versatile and are mostly crashable,
In terms of value, The Ks have much better value, U can go into Yamaha and purchase a 18" Medium A custom crash at $330, and purchase a K custom dark crash 18" at $360, i would say that it would be difficult to clear your A custom crash at even $250 but it would be real easy to sell your K custom dark crash at $300 easily.
I am friends with the Yamaha staffs and they admitted that the rezo series has not been selling well, (I would not like to defame any products here).
I am unsure what are the cymbals that you are urgently in need now, do tell me in the next comment and i can tell u my recommendation, thks :)

I don't particularly require any cymbals right now! It's more of a want than a need. I mean of course i'd replace the school's brass cymbals in a hinch, but the capital can't come from my own pocket and the school won't pay for it :S

I'd still prob go with my previous choices of 14 K/Z hats, 16,18 k custom dark crashes, 22 k custom dark ride and an 8 k splash. Though now that I think about it I really need to be more thick skinned, march right up to the yamaha dudes and ask to try the kz hihat. Need to see if it's the sound I want. The rest sound pretty awesome and matched up to me though. You could offer additional suggestions too! Thanks :D

Love talking about gear. Yay.

I wouldnt recommend you to purchase the K/z hats from Yamaha, its terribly marked up, the price online is $300 usd and they are selling it for $500 during a mid yr sale, not to say $550 during a normal day, The k light hats are rather well priced to me :) But its down to how much your pocket is willing to come out with! haaa,

Yeah i love to talk abt gears too!
My current axe for gigs - (Still looking for an suitable K hi hat)
16" A custom fast crash, 18" A custom fast crash, 18" A custom efx crash, 21" K custom hybrid,
You can say that i love the sound of modern drums, Sharp and fast forward, LOL.
