Any distortion pedals to recommend?

you might wanna try cascading gain (e.g stacking pedals). personally i use an SM7 which is heavy enuff for rythms and stuff(think 80s rock like van halen and metallica) but its kinda thin in terms of lead sound. How is the problem solved? by using a TS9dx to add mids and that thick fat sound.

Which one would you prefer for real heavy metal stuff? Line6 Uber metal or distortion factory or other pedals?

IMO the UM is great for getting that chugga chugga... You should give it a try. While at it, try the Metal Muff w/ top boost for the tweakability.
