Hi Is there anybody here who takes anti-depressants ? I just want to know if there is any bad side effects and which anti depressants really work ( ive only heard of prozac ).
And are there any suppliers willing to sell these medication without a prescription. :p

anyone who sells anti-depressants WITHOUT a prescription is nothing short of a quack. these medications are dangerous when taken against medical advice. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANTI-DEPRESSANTS UNLESS PRESCRIBED.

there are many kinds of anti-depressants beyond prozac, common ones being chlorpromazine, mirtazapine, artane and riseperidone. there are too many examples to state and i am merely giving examples based on those which i have encountered most often.

whatever it is, SEEK HELP. do NOT, and i emphasise do NOT self-medicate with anti-depressants.

hmm thats interesting... natural anti depressants.
lol, my mom always tells me that fish is good for your brain. now its starting to make sense.

there is no constructive reason why i am feeling depressed, its just a feeling that ive been getting lately accompanied with mood swings and all. And and my job is so dull its not helping

there's usually no side effects, except when you take too large a dosage, or when yo're going through the down period.
unless you have a prescription, it's pretty hard to get good anti-depressants in a good dosage in singapore, unless you have a friend who visits the psychiatrist regularly.

Job will be dulled if u have no iniative of making it lively or maybe ur collegue are those boring type, when u have mood swing, which is on and off issue, taking anti-depressant pill wont help in the longer run, i see my fren took it before, he still the same as ever, yet again worse.....and if u keep devour those pill, another side effect will be is addiction....and addiction is actually adding to ur depression, and u never noe wat problem face after that....in the lighter side of depression, my boss once told me "take red bull, it gives u wing" ...jkjk

Eat chocolates. Chocolates makes people happy.

Recommendation: Ben & Jerry Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Rita Sport Rum & Raisin or Rita Sport the one with the cornflakes. Nice!

Exercise also. Exercise also makes people happy.

Recommendation: Body Combat at Planet Fitness/California Fitness. Just jogging in parks nearby.

My solution no side effects coz they compliment each other. Unless you eat more than you exercise. hehe...

Not true dir. Many of anti-depressants do have side-effects. The newer ones have less, but not zero. Anti-depressants are controlled drugs. You will not be able to get them over the counter without a prescription. Anyone selling will get into trouble with the law. I wouldn't ask anybody else (friend etc) to get it from his/her psychiatrist. There needs to be a plan when starting (and eventually stopping) anti-depressants. It's not like taking vitamin pills or even panadol. Self-medicating is simply getting into trouble. Not only it doesn't help, it may make matters worse. Dir, that's a dangerous suggestion...

Puk, having mood swings and feeling "down" doesn't mean you are clinically depressed or that you need medications. You first need to talk to somebody, not necessary a doctor. If it doesn't get better, then go to a doctor. We'll be able to assess whether you are truly depressed clinically.

anw what cheez is saying is correct.....talk to ppl, voice out whats disturbing you, if u take pills, and in the long run, u addicted to it, one fine day u decide to take it anymore, ur body crave for the medication, and it actually bring you down even more....

Side effects are minor at best, or at worst can last up to day or a whole week, sometimes.
Also I'm not suggesting anything, just simply stating what's true. I believe the OP can make his own decisions.

also chocolate doesn't help, in fact I hate chocolate. I only give it to girls to make them happy.

People do many things to make themselves better, to escape from reality, etc. Pills are just another one of them. There are many addictions not worth getting into, but in the end what makes us happy, makes us happy.

well it's a proven aphrodisiac, so it's only natural. how else do you initiate lovemaking anyway? romance, poetry, expensive wine?
