bro...you can't use the comparison of apple and pears with OBAMA and BUSH man.
Ozzy is totally overrated. he can't sing for shit. thinks he's some puffed up high and mighty "prince" of darkness my ass.
DIO is one hell of a vocalist. Tamed like a lion mighty like a dragon. and he's got style.

Anyway, I actually like both Ozzy's vocals and Dio's vocals. Different styles, different presence, different character. Whatever the case is, they both fronted Black Sabbath, which is more than what most of us can even dream about.
There are people who like Bush. And already people starting to think Obama's overrated. Whatever the case is, they both ruled USA, which is more than what most of us can even dream about.

LOL there are many different types of singers and and guitar players and music etc. but theres only one presidential position. The only reason why people even compare ozzy and dio is because they fronted the same band, and each vocalist created a new sabbath era. had they both become famous in their own way, there would have never even been a thought of comparing them. Ozzy is old he is 61 and his vocal range is getting smaller by age. Dio is a professional singer who used to sing opera i was told, and he has golden pipes that allow him to sing so well at his age. You cant blame ozzy and tell him he sucks for not being blessed with ageless pipes like dio.

Led Zeppelins reunion a few years back needed to change the keys of their songs because of robert plants vocal range
it really is like iommi and malmsteen.
malmsteen is superior and can outshred iommi, but to even compare them is stupid. They ARE apples and pears.

haha i agree with you bro dio always will be number 1 ,just my personal preference though every time he sings i will get goosebumps.To me dio is the father of metal

its about respect and the pioneers of it
remember halford of judas priest?
he have nice vocals and can reach the high notes..
and his gay.
People do respect him as the pioneers of early metal
so what concearn now is that....ozzy,dio,halford all those high pitch mofos are mostly pioneers of metal
if u dont like ozzy voice..then stop listening to him

Personally, I've always dug Ozzy's vocals more as opposed to Dio's. Sure in terms of proficiency and pitch, Dio would win by a longshot.
But to me, in my honest opinion, I thought that Ozzy had more spunk.
And he WAS the first singer that established the genre that we all know and love...

1) you don't have to "anti" a particular singer.
2) actually, yes YOU CAN compare apples and oranges. That's when you're choosing within the category of "fruit". When we're choosing within the general category of "singers", yes you CAN compare ozzy and dio, or even compare Jay Chou and Tom Araya.
It's all a matter of psychology.
That being said, choosing within general categories should only be done at the right times and places. Like choosing which song to listen to from your whole music library as there are 101 genres of music in there.
If one constantly only compares candidates using the most general of categories, the tendency to look like a total Douche like the TS now will be high.
3) I do find myself having to make choices between spending my time listening to Cradle of Filth or The Bee Gees. But you see? I'm doing that comparison because it is the appropriate situation, time and place.

I feel stupid to even comment on this thread. But how can anyone not like Ozzy period Sabbath? Sure Ozzy wasn't the best vocalist but he made the band what it was.
