I haven't posted here in ages, so here's something I did a while ago, its just one take me singing with my banged up steel stringed guitar.

...hendrix fans, you're either gonna love it or HATE it!..
no one can really do justice to hendrix songs, so here's my little cooped up laidback version, hope it's alright, please do check it out..

anyways, I figured theres no way to imitate hendrix even if I really wanted to. Have you heard Rod Stewart's version with the faces?.. The Faces were the hottest party band ever haha, original frat-pack.

Yes I agree, there is no point in trying to completely imitate hendrix because

1.His music by itself is the antithesis of imitation per se(He gave cover songs his own spin)

2.His style at that time was revolutionary, and original, although he could play cover songs note-for note

3.His music is based on personal feel.

So, people like me, and you, and those who "get" his music, can only pay a tribute to his music, but with our own individual touches.(I'm sure he'd approve of that too) But of course, certain songs, you have to keep some fragments of his originality (riffs,chord voicings,the spirit of the song, etc) as they are the significant parts that make the songs brilliant in the first place.
