AMT Duhast?

Hello, I'm looking to buy a versatile distortion pedal. I'm currently into indie rock to heavy metal like Saosin and Killswitch Engage.

I've been to Davis, Swee Lee and CT Music and have tried Digitech, Boss and Line 6 analog pedals. Some of them were off my price range which is less than $150.

Then I tried a few AMTs especially the Duhast. Sounded great. But a couple of questions, I've only tried it at Davis on a Marshall amp. Is it versatile for the playing styles above, also, can I use it for studio recordings?

well if u talkin abt versatile da du-hast is a one trick pony w/o a doubt. so versatility is out da window. But da plus point is da trick it does, it does it well.

Why not give a try yourself  and bring a fren along for second opinion ...after test drive you tells us all about it :D (btw its formerly known as Rammstein)

the DuHast or Metalizer will be your target choice. try both. AMT pedals have built-in emulation for direct recording. btw, I use the Rammstein, for metal rhythms.

I've used the DuHast's predecessor, the Rammstein. It does a great job, you can get great metal and grunge tones - it really excels at that, but you can't use it for anything lighter, no hard rock etc.

The AMT California sound may be a little more versatile, and you can get some serious high gain dirt with it too.
