Hi all. been thinking about buying a 20-30W amp for home use just for the better tones. Just receive bonus..:)

anyway i am almost set on cube30x, but before i rush down sl i wld still like some other alternatives to see..

currently own a beta aivin hm200 pedal, play metal mostly, sometimes cleans, the rest of the effects not important (but nice to have)

should i cont looking at the cube30x? or is there any other good amps which have really good tones/cleans which i can just rely on my pedal for the distortion. Thanks in advance

yeah the cube is not bad cos it has all those built in effects to play around with. you can consider the epiphone valve jr which is also available at Swee Lee. can always drive a pedal thru it.

hmm. thanks all for reconfirming that cube30x is that good. but i will still open to possible candidates.

recently just realised theres something called tube 7 by sound drive in SV. couldnt find any of it in SV online store though, anyone with tube 7 can comment on tube 7?? compared to cube30x. if it is that good i guess i have to give SV a call...

Kustom Dual30RC has good cleans and on board distortion.
$250 for a 30W equipped with 10" celestion speakers is quite a steal.
check it out at Davis Guitar.

Yes that amp sub. saw your blog entry with that pic, wonder if it will fit nicely with hm200 too. I read once that you were going to post an review on it? but i couldnt find it anywhere. you mind sharing abit and comparing it to cube30x? thanks man..

CUBE 30 vs Tube7... it shouldn't be assessed this way.

CUBE 30 is a solidstate unit with on-board effects/ emulations to make it one of the more enjoyable amps out there.

the Tube7 is a great low wattage amp to propel pedals because it has a single channel to offer, only.

in this light, how can owning either amp be better than the other? unless you are assessing it in terms of value-for-money but it all boils down to needs- what do you need for your tone? a complete 'workstation' amp or a good clean fundamental to propel your pedals?

hmm.. although the extra effects are nice, but in the end i guess i only need the latter, which is the good clean fundamentals to play arnd together with my pedal. if this is the case tube7 will be better for me then?

the roland cube has the jc clean channel tht has very good clean fundamentals. goes well wif pedals really well too
