Amp problems/questions

My current amp, a marshall mg15cdr which I've had for nearly half a year sounds like it's dying, when I turn it on and off the sound.. ripples a bit, the feedback is increasing and there's starting to be feedback on the clean channel now. When I play chords, even when clean there's quite a bit of buzz.

Now the problem is I find the amp adequate (when it was fine anyway), but I'm sourcing for improvements, if you get the idea.. the clean is quite zz (especially since my EMG 81 pickups aren't exactly the best on clean either) and the overdrive is fine but a little muddy.

So the bottom line is this; amp isn't very good, is dying -- would it be worth more repair it, or just outright replace it?

If so, what should I get to replace it with? Budget is low; I'm considering like an Ibanez ValBee or the Marshall Microstack, but I'm worried they might not be enough of improvements.

Thank you!

REPLACE
Mines experiencing the same problem too.
Gotta get rid of it man!
Looking at something like a Ac30/Marshalll Ministack

Are mg15cdr that bad? Just back a few years ago, there was a hype on this amp (lots of recommendation on it) and not awhile later there are plenty of bashing on this amp. How true are these? Or people are just listerning to one or afew comments/opinion and simpy spread it like wild fire?

Something like few years back it was ok cause made in some different country.
But now the standard is pretty low. Not sure lah i hadnt even started play guitar then!

i think it depends on which country it was made...now there are marshalls made in india...

best solution is to get a new one...the spider II is not bad for its distortion...but forget bout the cleans...

Amps are being made almost everywhere nowadays...next time they might be MII...Made In Iran...with nuclear distortion and stuff...XD

dude..

go try all out.. trust your ears.. now that almost all the guitar shops are located close to each other.. each shop brings in diff things.. go and try all of them dependin on your budget and type of sounds you wan.. eveyrone will reccomend diff things .. cuz thats what worked for them.. but that doesnt mean it will work for u.. so go try it out i say.. :)

Hmm.

Let's just say that this is a beginner's/practise amp. This is not the amp you choose for tone. I know because that's the amp I'm using. However that said, I've overcome the bad overdrive by using a bass EQ and a Boss OD-2. just use the clean channel.. forget about the overdrive channel.

Let's just face the fact that small amps don't produce the best of sounds.

As for a recommendation as to what amp this guy could replace with.. I'm suggesting the Vox AD-30. Wicked amp. If your budget below $400 then this is the amp you should buy because it has fantastic amp and FX modelling functions. I used a Epi LP with that amp, and I could get a 'whole lotta love' crunch outta it! in fact it sounded much better (than Jimmy Page's tone) lol.

hmm im not too sure cause i dont own that amp, im using peavy bandit, im just curious cause back then that was quite a popular choice.
