Actually, I think Sam Ash has the Clavia Nord stuffs. No time to browse through everything.

Can try but can't buy in US unless you want to use it there.
Clavia stuff do not have universal power supply.

Anyway, some Clavia stuff is cheaper in Belgium.
Eg G2 Engine - USD995 in US; USD 740 in Belgium.

Shouldn't be difficult to get a adapter with alternate power settings. Anyway, just like you, I've given up on hardware a long time ago. I enjoy keeping up to date with these new toys to see how things are developing, but I won't buy them. Unless something really revolutionary comes out. Until then, I'll just stick to softsampling.

But I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy Sam Ash here - the variety of keyboards is just amazing. All their small 49 and 61 keys are also placed on tiered racks ready to be tried out. Wish I took a photo of the shop. Bongman will surely drool!

Was @ Turnkey, Charing Cross, London last year.
Good enough for me.
Basement - all the latest keys including exotic ones eg Moog Voyager, Clavia G2 + Sample CD listening station.

1st floor - soft synth heaven, all loaded up and ready for testing.

Again same pattern - 30 min in Turnkey.
1+ hours in Hamleys (London's equivalent of Toys R US).

Agree though soft synths, despite their short comings are the best thing to buy overseas - no worries over voltage incompatibilites, very unlikely to get a duff unit, easy to transport, & easy to hide to siam local tax ( ).

cool. i think i'll get down to visit some of these shops myself. will be based in US for half a year from jan 2006.
