Look at it this way; Since you've already drilled holes and refuse to take the other Softies advice, just go ahead. If the holes don't work out, drill more. Sooner or later you'd have a one-of-a-kind semi-hollow les paul.

Why, Gibson does that don't they? They just drill before putting the maple cap on. Then they bind it so that nothing falls out~
