Agile Guitars

Agile is damn cool they listen to what customer wants and give it! i love those 7 seven strings both septor and interceptor. Now they have the 8 strings septor and interceptor as well ! im gonna buy one 8 string septor one day. Also theres talk over at ss.org about a new 7 string s shaped. nice!

yup they are MIK but there are quite high quality. Coming the looks/reviews from ss.org

Take it with a pinch of salt. :)

I got my Schecter Hellraiser C-8 and I would review it as a medium level guitar. I can even list the faults that make it so! However, many others think the C-8 is a thing of perfection.

So yeah, take the reviews with a pinch a salt. While there are good deals and stuff, remember that you do get what you pay for.

The C-8? I like it. Especially more so since other people wouldn't dare to pick up the guitar - the guitar is MINE. ALL MINE. bwhahaha.

We can exchange msn contacts or something. PM me.

Well the Agile just needs some 'pimping' to sound like a million dollars.Bet Shredcow had to go through alot to make the C-8 sleek.

Oh no.
Thankfully, the C-8 sounds good and plays good. Perhaps its less 'woody' sounding than I would like but hey, EMGs? Thick clear coats? My bias-ed,preconceived notions of woody? And a million other reasons...

You don't need a million dollars to make/own a good playing/sounding guitar but you (usually) get what you pay for lah.

I didn't do much on the C-8 other than mess with the EMG electronics - wanted to check out their concentric pots and the active phase switch, out of curiosity's sake - and get a good setup on it. I have purchased some passive 8 string pickups though... because the EMGs are just too hot.

The Intrepid 8s are reckoned to have very nice passive 8 string pickups made by Rondo. 80USD a piece too - that's (really) cheap compared to a custom wound Seymour Duncan or Barekunckle or what have you.

Buy a 10 pack of d'addario 0.09s... because I can't take 10s on a 26.5" scale... then...

Hunt around and be nice. :)

I found a guy who shipped me d'addario 0.56 + 0.68 at cost price.

And, when that runs out - I know someone locally who can help me. Easy peasy.

If you're thinking of the Intrepid 8s - I find that 0.68 for the low F# is totally fine. If you're getting the 25.5" Intrepid 8, then perhaps, you might want to hit 0.70 - 0.74. If you're getting the 28.5" Intrepid 8, then I would 0.68 is more than enough. You can bet on a bit of finger stretching though.
