agathis tonewood

i once saw a guitar made out of agathis tonewood. Its pricing not that cheap either. Anyone know more info about them? always thought agathis of a lower end wood

just because a wood is more affordable, doesn't mean it's second grade. basswood is considered by many purists as second-rated but why do Vai/ Satriani/ Gilbert have their various signature offerings in this wood type?

true. I like the sound of basswood actually. very bright clean sound, something heavier woods cannot replicate.

Plus because its light, its more comfortable to stand up and play 8)
