I think that AFI sucks now, their 2 albums before Decembershitground were REALLY good, and then they come and release this over-the-top pretentious piece of shit they call an album.

Go listen to Sing the sorrow, their best album by far.

true, STS IS their crowning achievement. but, decemberunderground is not a bad album

to be honest. all bands have their fair share of good albums before they make it to sg radio. listen to the older taking back sunday albums. they rock. and every other good band that made it to sg radio

AFI has changed alot of the past few years, from good to worse

im a fan of their much older stuff when they were still on nitro records. they used to sound alot like the misfits. i think their sound began to make a huge turn after jade was called to fill in the guitar duties. i havent heard any of their new releases...but i think sing the sorrow was pretty fresh compared to their old stuff.i believe that was their break through album after being signed to a major label.they have certainly moved on musically which i think is good.

thats because most of the people who listen to them nowadays are like you and have only heard their new album....

I start listening to them around Art of Drowning era so i see them from been an underground band to a mainstream band and they have been my fv band ever since.

Some fans stop liking them because they went mainstream and at the same time they gain new fans.AFI have a very loyal fanbase that make out of people who listen to punk,metal,rock,etc.I really like how they try to improve and sound different on every album rather than just sounding the same like many bands now a days.

Calling them punk don't seem right infact they just don't fit in in any music gene and they don't need to.


They just won the VMA Best Rock Video after 15 years of playing music and i'm really happy for them.

Despite Decemberunderground not matching the success of STS,i still reckon that AFI still churns out great music and although some may say they went mainstream,iits not as though Davey decided to go for a dramatic overhaul and started dressing normally,haha.Btw,Love Like Winter is my fave in the new album

yea, love like winter is the best song on the album, i wonder how jade manages to get that sound. although still, the bonus track, rabbits are roadkill on rt. 37 is rly catchy too
