Advice needed for soundcard, amp, speakers

latency...ooh..thats latency..but 1second...pretty bad yeah? Not sure if its ASIO..hmm..

tried some borrowed stuff, AKG 3000c, heard not really for voice, but compared it with my SM58...the AKG is audilbly cystally clearer.but cost 3+times more!

also tried ATH-D40fs, am still listening to it now, great head phones compared to the $5 creative 'headphones'.ha. the ATH cost ~ $150. sound damn damn gd... but ears get hot pretty fast

tried Maudio mobile pre USB, nothing much, no soundbanks, just interface for recording.

tried other toys like Sony MD MZ-NH1, having some probs with it transfering files to PC, also tried iaudio i5 1Gig mp3player.

fun fun fun!! but 2weeks to exams......

some advice

well i think you need to spend some quality time to do research. so far all member here suggesting in the same direction. but basic question is..how much money you'll spend on this equipment. this will affect the whole setup. you don't have to spent alot of money for quality gear, but you must be clever to put the right thing in your rig.
for me, if budget is a factor, i'll get soundcard with preamps..maudio, esipro is fine product with budget price. than get good mic like ADK A series or Studio project..
than good monitor. if you're on macintosh. garage band have good soundbank. but if you're on PC there's alot of option. cheapest way is get "K" version. but i am not suggesting making money with this kind of software.
i thinks this product is the best solutions for you..
