how to adjust it?? i mean the proper tools..
Its not like a strat where u insert an allen key and turn. Mine newly acquired RG got this hexagonal bolt. i tried using the tool set i have but its too big to fit in the small hole inside the trussrod cover. as in i cannot fully put into the bolt as its at an angle. thus i cannot do anything... sian

do you have the original tool provided when u purchase the guitar? it usually comes with newly purchased japanese made ibanez rg's. it looks like this:

if u dun have it, try to borrow/buy it. normal tools won't be able to do the job. it might damage ur guitar too...

thanks bro. Now it makes a whole lot of sense to adjust it. wahahaha
Btw anyone got extra and wanna bless me with it?? hehe
My Ibanez is second hand/
Model number F5*****

I suppose its made in fujigen?? and a 1995 model??? its a RG570CT.

i would like to let u use my tool, but that comes from a jackson. but hell, it is made in japan, might work. but u have to wait till the weekend. maybe there are other kinder souls here...

maybe swee lee have them? they are ibanez dealers. but try davis too! i've seen a few ibanez original parts sold at the shop. or guitar connection, they stash lots of spare parts/stuff in boxes, ask kelvin.

Be careful though. Don't manually adjust the truss rod if you don't know what you're doing. If you adjust one side of the truss rod, be sure to balance up. If you have no clue how to do so, leave the job to a professional.

bro- if the tools come default with your guitar, it should fit. maybe you just need someone to show you how.

btw- i'm not trying to downplay your intelligence, just being cautious on your behalf: are you sure you need a truss rod adjustment? if this isn't your first time adjusting, ignore my query... 8)

errr if u didnt read my post, i said that my guitar is second hand. so the owner didnt pass me the thingi to adjust it.

and yes i know how to adjust them. haha i've been setting up all my guits. 5 of them.

i think u get buy the device at Davids...
but i believe there are diff sizes..check the parts on the ibanez site to confirm this...
btw what happened that u need to adjust the neck?is there too much neck relief?

i did. it's only now that we know your used guitar doesn't come with the adjustment accessories...

looks like we both own a 90s RG5XX series. is your RG equipped with an Edge/ Lo-Pro Edge? is this your first time owning such a bridge? apologies for asking too much, but since you're gonna acquire the wrench for the truss rod, might as well buy the rest which you require for the bridge adjustments, should the need arise...

if u r buying the tool, be sure to tell the salesperson, it is ibanez. coz gibson use the same type of tool, but of a different size. best to bring ur guitar to the shop, so that u can check the fit of the tool. it have to be snug. if it is loose, it might strip ur hex nut edges.

Hmmm.. well... when you get the right tool, I can help you with setting up and stuff, esp with handling the trem. :)

hey subversion and the rest, i just bought that thingi to adjust the truss rod and now the neck is damn straight. good.

And i have the allen keys for the other adjustments. And so called 1st time owning a floyd rose guit(lo pro). Cuz i actually bought a yamaha YG621 from luther classified at 300 bucks. then this guy offered me his RG570CT for it. Den i trade lor. 1 on 1. lol.

But that yamaha is good man. locking one, dun have to cut ball end, scalloped treble side on last 5 fret. 24 frets maple neck. alder body. 11 years old if i'm not wrong.

The RG i have is in a very good condition. lol.

Btw the first time i had a hands on on a floyd rose was on the yamaha and i gotta say i did a good job. its pretty easy and not as hard as i hear it to be. yeap. I only owned the yamaha for 2 days :)

that's good to know 8)

FYI, Ibanez's Edge Pro bridge also allows for the insertion of the ball end into the saddle mechanism, no snipping off necessary...

if i'm not wrong, that applies to the newer version of the Edge Pro trem only. i'm not sure when they start having them, last year??? the older ones still need the ballends to be snipped off...

Talking about very straight neck, how straight do you guys normally adjust to? I mean if you capo 1st and last fret, what's the gap on the 8th fret?
