Adding Weight to your Guitar

Okay, this might be unusual, but i find that my guitar isnt heavy enough.

Who knows what I could use as weights to place at the back of the guitar and where i can find it.

I've thought about using Fishing weights, but those might be TOO light. I also took out some adapter thing with the transformer inside and its got a good weight to it, but wont fit due to its fat a$$.

Guitar is a Les Paul. only holes to stuff Stuff is the Toggle switch area and Control area.

kthxbye!

why you wanna make your guitar heavier? les pauls are so light one meh?

just keep playing it the way it is lah.

if you want a heavier guitar, buy a lp custom

cheers

Hmm, its heavy as it is, but its not heavy enough...
just a personal preference i guess ;)

i've heard about Lead weights too, anyone added weights to your guitar before ?

go to a guitar luthier to make a cavity around the body, then u add in sand, lead powder, iron powder, watever metal things u can find....best is use lead cos it is heavy...lol...but sure expensive...or not use acrylic guitars

thinking our of the box, i came to the conclusion, of... slimming down and weakening the body, in order to feel the weight of the guitar, slightly more..

wow, cept for the 2 usefuk comments, everythign else was just rubbish

anyway, i ended up gettin Fishing weights, which were suprising;y heavier than the YALE padlocks which would not fit anyway,

i bought 4 pieces and stuffed em in the back, now its awesome :)

only artist i know to do this is billy sheehan, he likes the weight and added sustain.

he attaches a BRASS block to his headstock.

fill the body with cocaine!

na you could jsut buy a buch of fishing weights, buy a small pot that you ARE NEVER GONNA USE AGAIN.then just melt it,the melting point it relatively low.but safety issues would be severe burns and its a fire hazard and the fumes can cause cancer and minute amounts can cause hereditary birth defects but i mean if you take it from a professionals prespective its worth a try :) haha
so you melt it down and make a small box wahtever in the shape out of the cavity then pour it in,and i mean box made out of ceramic, highher boiling point metals....

HAHAHA

weight doesnt mean more sustain, but more material will give more sustain. bigger body or attaching a brass block will increase sustain

want heavier weight?

Try gigging with that thing and standing with it for about 2 hours or more straight strapped on a single shoulder. Then you'll want to get those weights off. If not and u still want more weights, I really salute you man.
