Hi all, this is prob a silly question but i know v little about pedals, so i appreciate the help!

I just bought a Boss RC2 loop pedal. Can I use this universal adaptor to power it? And if so, any idea what voltages I should set it at? Thanks in advance! (adaptor was previously used to power a yamaha keyboard).

Yup I guessed so.. how abt the settings on the back of the universal adaptor? Remain at 220-240v or switch to 100-120v? Or do I leave it alone?

Thanks!

Can anyone else help without being a jerk about it?
Thanks!

its 220-240v setting..

singaland housedhold voltage rating at 230vac. I got this from google.

And for more info, next time, wanna use different adaptor, check these 3 things

1) Voltage rating of effect, whether is it voltage in dc(direct current) or voltage in ac(alternating current). Info can be gotten from the specification page of effect manual. Again, using google, can find pdf version online

2) Polarity of effect- Whether is it center negative or positive, again, this one usually will be indicated on the effect itself, either thru a sticker or imprint on it. For boss effect, confirm sure have one. Your adaptor polarity setting will have to match this. Again, this one, go search for online pdf maunal of the rc-50 and see what is the power spec.

3) Current rating of effect- Again, it can be found usually in the power spec. If cannot find, then make sure adaptor using, have a larger rating of 1ampere/1000mA or more, to play safe. Your effect will only draw whats needed to operate. More, nevermind, less, your effect will be sucking too much juice from the adaptor, more then what it can supply, so not good.

and lastly, i have to agree with dodgethis, next time in doubt, think and ask ourself, quick search online, answer might be there.

Hehe, soft was friendly last time coz theres more depth to question being asked, unlike now...

Thank you Pathein! I just tried it, the universal adaptor works fine now in negative polarity setting.
Learning something new everyday -- I haven't used a pedal in years and I have no clue as to polarities, voltages etc.. funny why some of the other generic adaptors i have are set to positive polarity..
