acoustic amp hiss

i recently bought an acoustic amp (crate 15W one) and a line6 variax300 acoustic. but it hisses real bad when plugged in. is it normal for acoustic guitars to hiss? or is it just the variax300?

Or is it the cable, or perhaps the amp not grounded yet?

dont think it's the cable because it's fine with my electric guitar. the amp is also grounded.

but then again i got a feeling it's the line6 cable, the TRS one for the acoustic guitar.

on average, i dun trust line6 product.. juz my point of view..

Hmm.

My buddy uses the Variax 600 for live playing, and he goes through a killswitch box to turn off the sound when he takes a break. Do you use such a killswitch box?

I do remember that it requires either a battery or an adaptor (he used the adaptor)... and you know how these stompboxes tend to pick up noise.
