About intonation and stuff

Ok so... its known fact that changing of gauges from heavy to light and vice versa needs intonation adjustment. But how about downtuning of a same gauge, does the intonation still needs to be adjusted? Say from standard E to B. "WTF!! What is this guy thinking!!" you might ask, well Carcass fan here. So basically my question is does different tuning on the strings affect the intonation as well?

when Bill Steer employed the low tunings in his Carcass efforts, he was still using his Ibanez S-series. this guitar features a dual-action whammy bridge whose tension helps to counter the strings' slack. also, a thicker string gauge was utilized.

back you your query- downtune needs intonation adjustments? depends. check the intonation after you downtune.

Yeah I understand he used .12 guage back then. I take the dual action whammy bridge is actually a floyd rose?
