Hey guys, so i'm gonna get straight to the point, I'm thinking of buying a guitar online etc eBay or some other site that ships internationally, now my question is, when i do get it shipped here, are there any "random" charges that they might impose that i should be aware of? thanks guys, i figured a lot of folks here have shipped guitars in and i'm just considering this. don't wanna be shocked when the delivery guy appears outside my door step with an additional bill

if item is over $400, be prepared to give 7% GST to the delivery man. Make sure you have exact change prepared. I had an incident when the guitar arrived at my doorstep and I didnt have change, and the delivery man refused to accept a tip so he took the guitar back and delivered at another time.

forums would be a good bet but keep in mind that you have to hand money over to a complete stranger and pray that he sends you the goods.

Any cheap and good place to source for guitars to buy overseas besides eBay?

Ishibashi maybe. But I don't know if you can find the items cheap plus the shipping and handling. Though they have an ebay store and ships for free, I think. You could also order from Rakuten, they are like the 'middle-man' for the stores in Japan. Though you could always order directly from the stores, some do have english speaking staff.

Don't mind if ask, what specific guitar (brand? model? body shape? make-mia, mij, mic, mip, mii?) are you you looking for?

The S$400 value is inclusive of shipping/freight cost. Not just the price of the guitar before shipping cost.

So if what you're looking at is only marginal savings over buying locally, you may wanna reconsider since buying a guitar over the net is often a bit of a hit and miss affair.

ive a package coming in via USPS and ive paid the tax there, is this the GST or another separate tax?does this mean that when the mailman comes i will be liable for that 7%
