A good practice amp under $600?

Hei

Hi, i'm looking for an amp (not currently though..) for about the price or $600~ or lesser.
Preferably some reliable tube amp that can last me for over a good 10 years with maintenance if needed..
sound wise maybe a good sounding overdrive or high gain.
extra effects not necessary.

any recommendations?

i was looking at Marshall's MA series, i didn't hear it myself personally but the reviews seemed negative :(

If you don't mind a solid state, and purely for practice, do check out the new Yamaha thr10. I just bought one recently, pretty impressed with how it sounds and with the added functionalities.. Sounds great at both low and high volumes.

But of course its none other than the Marshall AVT-series.. good on all.
Used to be using a Marshall AVT-20X (and selling now) but since had upgraded to a pure tube-amp, JVM-410H. (Had read somwhere stating JS had also started owning one recently as he had his Peavey dumped!!)

Good luck, son.

I've owned the Jet city 20w combo and 50w head, they both sound killer! You won't go wrong with the dual channel 20w combo.

But on the other hand, I currently own the Yamaha THR10, and it's one of the best practice amps I've ever owned. I've brought it to jamming before and plugged it through the PA: sounded amazing! It cant actually keep up with a drummer if you put it on a raised platform

the recently revised Marshall DSL15C is definitely a sub-$600 amp :-) with appealing cleans & drive.

Marshall's MA series is a little subdued in terms of drive, if you are looking forward to more bite, the new DSL range should be considered.

I'm currently also looking at the DSL, goes only for $580.
Consider the non-tweed Fender Blues Junior at Swee Lee for $700
