Hey guys,

Im looking for an electric guitar, with a floating bridge.

I sorta like the Ibanez JS 1000/1200,
but then..
i've already owned an IBANEZ RGA 121 (BUT it doesn't have a floating bridge!)

So is it worth the money to buy another Ibanez? Will it sound the same? :(

Anyways feel free to recommend me other guitars with whammy bar:)

Thanks..

Try ESP! If you are in a tight budget, ESP LTD/ ESP Edwards!

You should also consider Floyd Rose equipped guitar! Those are also top notch compared to the Edge by Ibanez:D

hmm to be honest i havnt had much of any probs with my edge even after near 2years..
you can try the jackson stuff too, if i had spare cash i would go for one of those

Jackson Dinkys come with OFRs btw.

Jackson DK2

Personally i like the DK2M with maple fretboard.

Sexy.

Or if you are ordering from the webz try to get on hands on a DK2S with the sustainer system. That is pure win.

Jackson PC-1, in chameleon finish. comes stock with built in sustainer system, OFR, dimarzio super3. that's pure win!

Oh, I'm also interested in the Ibanez JS. What about the JS2400, looks really promising.

Depends on you, the RGA121 has a mahogany body if i'm not wrong, hence you might find the sound of basswood rather light on the trebs, if you liked the warm bassier tone of mahogany. Basswood is a very neutral sounding wood, so it doesn't shine in any department. You might find the tone bland overall. Hwowever, to each his own, i'm simply stating my own experience and opinion on basswood.

Cheapest JS2400 is probably 3.1-3.3k? Yeah agreed, basswood is quite neutral sounding, and a number of people may not favour it.

i think if u want a guitar with a stable whammy bar, u gotta be willing to fork out moolah for it, from reading on this forum, nothing good has come out of LFRs so far. unless u dun mind an edge iii bridge from ibanez. it is the more stable floating trems in its price bracket. but of course if u dun like basswood then all the best haha

You don't need to spend that much cash to get a guitar with a good trem. Just look around for guitar that come stock with OFR.

licensed floyd rose.. basically it's copies of floyd roses approved and made by other companies.. eg ibanez edge trem..
original floyd rose it just means yea the actual thing..
