the most worthy item i'd fork out some money for in this store would be Mr. Softee ice-cream... when i was young, i remember looking forward to buy the chendol flavoured softee...

Despite the high prices, they still sell jolly shandy to people under 18, unlike cheers which is just not right!

Joe

by virtue of the % of alcohol content in the Jolly Shandy drinks, these are deemed non-alcoholic & share the same shelves as other aerated drinks- or are there other Jolly Shandy versions with higher alcohol content?

they're there for the convenience.... I'll buy my stuff elsewhere but if you're in the middle of some HDB jungle or in town, 7-11 is there for you. Always. 24/7. Thats the price you have to pay.

i am one the lucky son of a mother that has a 24 hour supermarket(YES!! SUPERMARKET!) and kopitiam right under my block. cheap prices, i mean like NTUC cheap or even cheaper. and its big. HAHAHAHAH

First of all, even though I work part-time in 7-11, I avoid it like a plague when it comes to shopping.

I have to admit that the prices of the stuff there are ridiculous. There's also been a recent price increase on some of the things there, namely snacks, chocolates and bread. I never buy stuff from my store, preferring to go to the ntuc or shop and save that's just a 30 second walk away. The prices put me off. I don't understand why people are willing to pay $2 for a 500ml of coke when you can easily buy one at the ntuc next door. It's daylight robbery imo.

I believe we can answer this "7-11 overprices their stuff" question with the same logic as "XXX Guitar shop sells this product $XX more than this guitar shop, CHEAT MONEY!!"

Their in the beer section, but they are still considered non-alcoholic. I've heard varieties of the alcohol level ranging from 0.1% or 0.5% or 0.95%, not sure of the actual percentage of alcohol, but from all I've heard, it's below 1%, which is why it is and should be legal. Well not too sure, but Cheers sell 'em dirt cheap, so sad I've gotta get them at 7-11, which is as usual, more expensive.

I would prefer Cheers anyday, except if there is none in sight and 7-11 is the only available 24 hour store. 7-11's stuff are sometimes overpriced. But it can be a life saver at times though, esp when I need a hot cup of coffee or cup noodles.

I was shocked when a 500ml bottle of coke/ 7-up costs $2, when i can buy 1.5L at NTUC and i can save few cents...

Only considering to enter 7-eleven when its late night or buy newspaper. B)

steep is an understatement! the only place you can find more expensive Coke is at hotel bars and clubs..
I only 7-11 when i need cigarettes but have no cash on me. cos they accept nets

I don;t mind the prices because the shop did not force me to buy there. the only complain here is it is tricky to get "free" promotions stuffs over there.

As soon as I read a promotion in TODAY, for examples a free sandwich for any purchase, I walk in the store and buy a mineral bottle and ask for the sandwich. First answer is likey a "no", but then the shop keeper seems changed his mind and say,.. "oh you want ?" and "here..." .
